From that list my opinion is to get spur gear and the new coated shock shafts and that's it. Eveything else is money you could spend else where. One tip on the build is on the servo saver there is a nut on the bottom where you attach the servo link to. Put the nut in before you put the mud gaurds on.

I dont like the DE skids. Check out the Leadfinger one, I've been running it all season and its still going strong.

I guess the front and rear arms are good to have but wouldnt say any of that stuff is must have other than alumnium servo horn unless you just cant get parts quickly.

I have had both teknos since spring and now the eb48.2 and have not broken anything on the EB48. I did break a rear diff housing on the SCT410 but that was before I fixed the nose down issue. And I crash no more or less than anyone else.

If your getting the .2, it comes with the HD arms. My point is that all that stuff is nice to have but not a MUST. That said I have tons of spares but theyve just sat in my pit bag.

I would say get a bunch of springs, pistons and oil and just work on setup for your drive style and drive it. I don't like skid plates because it takes away from ride height. If the kit is setup right you should not need skid plates.

The HB horn works pretty good, but it puts more stress on the servo spline. That's why we designed ours to mount lower. Servos will last longer.

Actually an awesome point, defintely get a nice mix of springs and pistons. I run a skid plate on my buggy and not my SC and honestly the stock chassis holds up fine so your prob right about not needing one.

agreed, forgot to specify the tekno horn is the best one since its designed for this use.

Hey guys!

I am still pretty new to the hobby, and I would like to buy my first 1/8 Buggy pretty soon!
I have been leaning towards Tekno RC because I was looking at the Short Course Trucks and have heard so many good things about the SCT410 but there also seems to be less top brands in the SCT class.
But when I'm looking at 1/8 Buggies there are just so many options I just thought it would be nice to stick to a brand.
I have been looking at some videos, and read a couple pages in this thread and everybody seems happy with their EB48

I have heard that this car in plenty durable, I also heard that it can be fun to bash a 1/8 buggy, would it be something I could do alongside running on a track with this car or is it not recommended? (I am a bit worried about having "no" bumpers on a car when bashing)

I have some 2s Lipos, could I run them in series or am I just better off buying some 4s Lipos?

And final question, are there any others bodies than the stock and the Jconcept that fits the EB48? I am not the biggest fan of the look of these.

Edit : where could I find these carbon fiber Air guards seen in the first page?

Thank you guys in advance

I think for bashing you may want to look at a different type of car but the Teknos are certainly very durable but are definitely racers. Your fine running 2 2s lipos, no need to buy 4s. The stock and JC bodies are the only ones available, rumors of an FTW body have been floating around.

Carbon fiber air guards? This is the buggy thread not the short course thread but either way the link is under the pic if I remember correctly.

Check out the following link as Jason and others have listed several indoor track setups.

http://www.teknorc.com/eb48-setup-sheets/

Once I head indoors I will post mine up as well.

I ran a Tekin T8 Gen 1 2050 motor this weekend in my Tekno EB48.2 geared at 17/44 and it was on rails.

Here is a video of our track and the layout.

Getting ready to mount up some new tires and been a while since I bought any 1/8 wheels...Used to buy AE 83mm wheels and always had good luck with them but wondering if there are any better choices available now for this platform...Just looking for some opinions or experiences with different brand/size wheels...Thanks
