And they don't have enough pack correct?
What if I close up 2 of the holes with this work as a temp with about the right feel ?

I'm still running the stock pistons but I have the Kyosho's to put in for a try at my track.

I think I'll do that and 2K in the rear soon.

that could work. For the SCT410 at least, that is what timamybrown did at the raceI attended. His oil weights were about 2.5W less than mine, and I use the Kyosho pistons.

You can also after sealing up those holes, drill out the others to the 1.3mm size.

Any word on a metal Tekno servo horn? I like my HB but the Tekno one might be a tad lower.

Check these out from VP-PRO they are such a low profile you cant fit a nut on the bottom after you mount them...

Man, so much conflicting information about the pistons. I believe that my kit pistons are 10 x 1.1mm, I tried sticking the back of a 1.2mm drill bit through and it wont go but the 1.1mm drill fits. So, am I wrong in thinking that these will have enough pack at least for getting the car on the track probably Monday for a shakedown run?

Also had a couple more issues with my kit, one of the holes on the aluminum half of the center diff support wasnt tapped deep enough. Also, one of my threaded shock collars was missing the chamfer above the oring so there was like 1 thread up there that made it impossible to get it on, had to scrape out the threads and then it went on fine. Other than that this thing basically put itself together, still have to yank the electronics out of my other buggy to throw in this thing and paint the body and I am ready to go.

The standard pistons will do you fine, I've been running them, though I'm no setup guru, just been enjoying driving the buggy.

I am guessing the standard pistons are what Tekno used/decided on after their pre-production testing?

I know they used the HB servo horn, but you would think all other parts were kit standard.

The 1.1 pistons will have enough pack for you with the kit oils.

This page is full of conflicting piston info . lol
What is the O.D. of the pistons ?
So I did some math ..
1.2 x 8 hole =9.03mm³
1.1x 10 hole =9.49mm³
1.3 x 8 holes =10.61mm³
1.2 x 10 holes =11.30mm³
The formula is πr² (3.14 x [1/2 of hole x 1/2 of hole ]x # of holes
1.2 mm with 10 holes ::
3.14 x [ .6 x .6] x 10 holes =
3.14 x .36 x 10=
3.14 x .36 x 10 = 11.30
Hope this helps
This will only apply to strait hole pistons
The angles hole pistons when moving slow will act just like (or close enough) to a strait drilled piston but wonce speed of compression increases it will block some of the hole , kind of like crimping a water hose .
Hope it helps

Does anyone else have a problem with the servo horn rubbing the body? Well not the actual horn but the screw that connects it to the connecting arm. I dremeled the screw down to gain some more clearance but it's still not enough. I'm running a hot bodies servo horn.
