Tekno RC EB48 Thread

Last night I used a variation of Balirs set up. 5,5,3 diff, 35/30, 1.3x8 Kyosho pistons, light blue Kyosho springs all around, rear pushed back all the way 5mm shimmed front of hub. 2050kv geared 16/46, max amps race pack. All other parameters just like Blair's set-up. First qualifier I did not remove any of the braces. The rear was stiff and would swing around pretty good. I removed the rear brace for the main and the car changed. I mean it was hooked up. If I remove the rear light blue Kyosho springs and go to a orange or yellow, I think it will be perfect. Finished second in the main. I wish I would have tried HB Megabites instead of AKA impacts on our track. It was quick Wednesday night race, so I left it alone. I hope the NB48 will be similiar to this car.

The Kyosho rear orange springs are rated at 3.4lbs where the stiffest Tekno rears are 2.93 lbs.
I asked Blair this question and he said that those are the springs/pistons that everyone uses for nitro buggies so they really understand them. He also said that they support the car better and make it easier to land when the car is out of shape (not bottoming out).
To me the Kyosho Light Blue/Orange springs feel firmer compared to the Tekno front yellow and rear orange.
I just put a set on my car. I can give you more feedback after this weekend's race.

I felt the car would sag with the stock Tekno springs. With the stock Tekno pistons I would have no rebound. The Tekno Springs got worse with age. They weren't alway like that. I've been racing this car since launch. The Kyosho light blue springs all around may be a bit too stiff. I will soften up the rear with orange ones.

don't feel bad, last time I looked for it it wasn't in a place I would have thought to look myself lol.
For heavier rate springs, I also use these charts that I found online or worked out in excel:

Im Selling my dxr8e and going to get either the eb48 or the d8 hara with the tekno chassis. which is better in terms of handling. Any cons and pros on these? And what are the main differences besides chassis lay out?
