What are the different characteristics tuning-wise with the conical(what ever you want to call the style of the stock) piston? It's not exactly like what I can find for others definitions of conical with one side of the holes bigger than the other. The stock ones are far as I know have the same hole diameter throughout but the whole piston is "bubble" shaped.

I see setups on the tekno site that they are flipped(big opening down), but I haven't read anywhere what characteristics it's changing. My guess would would be slower compression and faster rebound, but almost a pure guess.

Anybody know for sure?
grab some kyosho 1.3 hole pistons and dont look back. they work way better for me

Also, what's a good servo to run in it?
I ran my eb48 for the first time today on a medium sized 8th scale outdoor track. All i can say is, 1900Kv is PLENTY. There's a pretty good sized double double section on our track's new layout. I had no trouble clearing it with 3/4 throttle. Most of the time i never went past half throttle. I am using a turnigy trackstar 1900Kv sensored motor. Was skeptical at first becuase it was only $55, but i have to say i'm more than impressed with it's performance. Super smooth power, motor was just warm after a 10 min run, and it's plenty quick. I ran an 18t pinion and it felt like just the right amount of power. Was actually overclearing a bunch of sections.
I liked the buggy a lot as well. Felt very nimble and i was doing some whips in the air (love that). Don't know if it's my bad driving transitioning from shortcourse, but it felt kind of twitchy to what i'm used to. No problem though, just add some steering expo and it'll be all good. Overall i'm very happy with the buggy, just need to get used to driving something that doesn't handle like a brick (sct410 isn't a brick, just the driving style of the class in general). Also i might add it is very durable, took a few tumbles, lawndarts, and nosedives, and nothing broke. Good job tekno.

ps i was box stock minus pink springs front and red springs rear. Track was VERY loose and loamy!

Cool, thanks for the input. Your track conditions sound similar to mine. So do you think an 18t pinion is a good place to start?

Yes. Temps were very reasonable and it had good power all the way through. Could even go up to a 19 if you want a little more top end on the straightaway. For me though,18 seems to be the gearing i wanna keep.

Is a wheel nut wrench provided in the kit?

Gene- I run 6s on my 1/8, so take this with a grain of salt.
1900 is plenty on our area tracks, on 4s. The only place you "might" want more would be if you go to Da Barn in NY. But then, you can simply gear up a tooth if you needed.
I'm debating...I am currently running a Tekno converted RC8.2 and love where I'm at with it. But given I now have the 410, I'm somewhat tempted to try n sell the 8.2 off and get an EB48.

Oompa, I'm definitely getting the eb48. I was originally looking at the mugen but after getting the 410, I think the eb48 is the right choice.

Guys, just to double check, the new instructions show screwing the servo saver spring down to 5.5mm, is that the way to go rather than 2.5mm?

Do the factory settings on the suspension give enough toe-out? I don't have the servo in so it's all loose bit it seems very neutral at the moment.

only took the boots off because I was playing around with oil/piston combo's, they'll go back on before I run her. The motor is great so far, but I've only run it up and down the street. Plenty of power and seems smooth, barely warm as well.

What motor is it? Is that the 150a Hobbywing esc or the SCT Pro?

Thanks

the motor is a Turnigy 1900kv and the esc is the SCT Pro. I don't plan on running more than 4s so the SCT Pro was an easy choice. I run the 150a in my other 1/8 electric buggy and it works great, it's just BIG
