These motors are sick!!!
I have been running these motors for almost a year now in my 4x4 and here is what I have found.
3800KV - This motor feels like a much Higher KV motor than it is rated at due to the bottom end TQ these motor create. I prefer this turn motor for slick outdoor tracks or tight indoor tracks. I know you say only a 3800... but give it a try and you will see...
4800KV - I have found this motor to be just stupid fast. I run it in a 4x4SC10 and it is Almost... I mean Almost too much power. I can see it being perfect in some of the other 4x4 SCTs.
7200KV - Have not tested one yet.. From what I understand it was not really design for the offroad world and would be just stupid fast in anything...
All three motor designs can be purchased with small shaft 1/8 inch for 1/10scale applications or 5mm shaft for SCT or 1/8 scale conversions...
It was mentioned that these draw a ton of amps.... These motors due to the bottom end TQ they create can and will pull a good amount of amps at startup which leads to some electronic attention... I have found you need a VERY high quality 1/10th Scale ESC or better yet a 1/8 scale esc to handle the amps this motor is capable of needing...
Also a quality high C battery 50C plus would be suggested to get the most out of these motors...
With that said the perfomance and temps of these motors have been outstanding thus far....
FYI you should see a B44.1 run with a 3800KV 4 pole motor in it.... Super Fun!
Good Luck!

That doesn't look at all like the LiPo was on fire. The damage is on the outside, whatever was hooked up to those two burnt wires is what burnt up.

Put the 4800kv to the test this last weekend. Not happy with the results. Blew the bearing out in the sensor side of the motor after 2 five min. Qualifiers at the topgun shootout in san diego. .

The motor was rediculiously fast.just wondering on the quality of it though.

customer service.
As of today it has been four emails and a few phone calls with 100% failure for customer service. need a new sensor board with the bearing. motor was two runs old.

Lately I've been having heat issues with my 4800kv.
I'm was running 13/54 in a Team Durango DESC410r and the motor was temping between 150-180 depending on track and temp. The last two races the motor was up into the 200's. I dropped to 12/54 and it didn't seem to help.
Last week I took the motor apart, checked it out, cleaned and oiled the bearings and all was fine, but this past friday I didn't even race it because after 8 min of practice it was 230 and the esc was 130 even after maintenance.
I know the temps around here have been in the high 90's but that still seems like a huge change.
I am experiencing the heat with both the RX8 and the Brushless Hobbies LT4 with no timing, no drag brake and no limiters.

Just picked up a 4800 for my SC10 4x4...
Geared the same as my 4600 Pro4 - (16/62)...it's smoother than the Tekin...bit softer down low but pulls harder upstairs, alot less braking aswell.
Was 175 after 3 mins of race time, pulled it off the track...dropped the pinion to a 14 and ran the main...motor came off @ 210...
Dropping the pinion to a 12 for this weekend, really hoping I didn't hurt this thing already...
