Tested this today for the first time. If you're currently using the punisher body, you'll need too cut off the outer most shock mount(don't worry you'll never use it)

I kept the shock package the same just to see.... Wasn't that great. I had been running 5 limiters up front and white springs. I changed to green springs and was much better. I believe ideal limiting will be 3 or 4 washers.

I also drilled a extra inside shock mount a "4th hole". This was much better. So far it seems great!! I'll have more testing on Thursday.

How weak is a 17.5t motor in the T4.1? This is for a beginner(ish) driver who wants to race. He's been driving a Traxxas Rustler w/4pole 4600kv and this 17.5 is waaay slower, but, is it too slow?

All opinions are appreciated. Merry Christmas to all!

17.5 is perfect for learning and growing while racing. Traxxas stuff is meant for bashing, thats why its faster....if traxxas stuff was slow they wouldnt sell nearly the amount they do. People love to see that the car/truck they are buying will do 40-50mph.

I would get the traxxas uppers, the Associated lowers and the associate springs. The AE springs are better than the losi and are about the same price. The AE cups come with a ful pack of 0, +5 and +9 offsets. This allows you to use the same BB springs between you t4, b4 and sc10.

I agree with wildcat, get the associated springs and if you know anyone who has a B4 w/ BB ask them if you could have or buy the +9 cups from them instead of the whole set.

Also, that spring combo is what I run on indoor high bite, so I don't know how that will fare in outdoor lower bite conditions

the losi lowers are $7 for 4 cups. The AE lowers are $5 for 12 cups. Or you can do like yankee said and see if someone at the track with the BB shocks for their buggy would part with the +9 cups.

i have a place to get the losi stuff real cheap. like 60-70 percent of what you see at amain. i would have to pay close to full price for the associated stuff. does anyone have a recommendation of what losi springs work for outdoor stuff?

but just in case which associated springs are you guys talking about? and with what oils?

Not trying to sound rude, but if you got that good of a hook up then why are you not running Losi.

not sounding rude at all.

i had the old t4(not even t4.1) before i had the hookup. i thought about getting the 22t and still might since i can get the kit way cheaper than you think. but right now i just have not and the t4 is doing just fine right now running about middle of the pack. just need to work on setting it up. plus the t4 fits my driving style better.

but notice though my other race cars are losi for that reason. my 2wd SC is dialed. my scte is no pushover either i just love 2wd for the challenge.

No offense to associated as I have always ran their cars and love them, but if I'm offered a sponsorship to Losi for that good of a deal I'm taking it
