They dremel down the "hump" where the rear ball studs go in. So that it is flush with the plate. this will make the brace more fragile. some people get the strc alum brace, because it is already flat and stronger because of the alum.

It just lowers the stud position, unless you try to crash every turn it won't make it break anymore than without it shaved

I would try both before you buy anything. Play with it. Thats half the fun!

Yea, its still pretty strong. I have never had a problem with the U-braces. I know wildcat1971 has broken a few but I think he does back flips of the triples to scrub speed.

but, yes I deserved the breaks. if you keep it on all fours, you will be fine. people here like to put triples and cross overs near steel poles.

You gotta whip it sideways around those poles

I am running a Tekin 10.5 and a Tekin RS Pro speed controller in my T4. What gearing should I be running in it? I run on a small to medium indoor track. Also what speed control setting should I be running? Boost? No Boost?

I run 25/76 with my 10.5 with boost. As far as how much boost, you should ask on the tekin thread.

For those that are interested... I got to run the garodisc-Triad the other night. The disks seem to work quite well. The amount of slip appears to be more intricately adjustable compared to the stock slipper with garodisc pads. If feels much like the stock Triad, but without worry of the pads overheating (which happened to me). I couldn't be happier with the setup.

Hmmm, if I wanted to go garo, I think I would use the stock gears and the hex pads or get the vts and maybe the garo vts pads. The only reason I got the triad was to hopefully have my pads last a lot longer. If that proves to be false, I will sell the triad and get a pair of garos and just run the stock spurs.
