I think it allows the chassis a little flex in the rear making the care handle better on rough tracks compared to the old chassis.

Good to see AE coming with a new RC8, was getting old

Did they solve the weight issue? I used to drive a friend's RC8Be and it felt very neutral I liked it but too heavy IMO

The lightened drivetrain as well as the towers and a couple other items did knock some weight off. It's still not the lightest car on the track, but it feels much more lively and quick compared to the B.

Default Indoor setup

Hey guys, i am looking for a good indoor setup. Great traction with elevation changes and a few rhythm sections. Anyone seen one
I am running a converted rc8. I guess it is a RC8.1.75!

Brown Santa (aka UPS) dropped this off for me yesterday:

Have to wait until Christmas to open, though. Oh well, I have a ton of other things going on right now anyway.

As for what I'm using, I decided to change my setup from my RC8Be. Here's what I decided to go with:
RX8 w/1400kV motor & 6S batteries
Savox SB-2271SG servo ($50 through SavoxUSA with a servo trade in, can't beat that!)

I've been really happy with the RX8 in the Be and the Savox 1258TG servo, so I didn't see a need to change brands.

As for upgrades, will probably only buy the rear aluminum hubs and maybe Ti turnbuckles, but neither are cheap, so probably won't buy them right away.

Its done to minimize scrub during cornering, and cuts weight as well, and it was an excellent move, for the racers anyway. bravo Associated....

Got mine today from my LHS. I had it pre-ordered. The kit does not come with tires. It does come with 4 wheels though.

In the neighborhood of 150x50x40. It's the same box since the original RC8e limited edition and/or conversion kit of mid 2009.
