For everyone ..
The caps have always from the beginning been easy to make a mistake cross threading.
Also the thread size has not changed on the bodies or even the new caps....

So cross thread a cap just once and it will always cross thread due to the damage threads...

Even if the caps were metal the same problems would still be able to occur...
So its the not material or the workmanship that is the issue ..

Its the guy building the shock that's the real problem...
I've seen guys with years of experience build their shocks all wrong .
They do stupid things like torque down the cap with wrench way to tight ..

You only need to hand tighten the caps !

Over tight the cap and it will cross thread. Even if threaded on correctly....

I never said any thing about cross threading the caps. I said AE did a piss poor job on there caps. Same with there shocks all togather. But you are the god of AE right? You just know every thing about there shocks. And gear diffs. But you also thing ball diffs will be in 8th scale. Soo... The only thing I found that's makes AE shocks ok is GS rings.

And sorry again ..

Even your precious GS O rings I have tested and experience how bad they swell ...(That's why they don't leak BDW)

Just want to check the latest facts on the use of Losi pistons in the B4. With Ae shocks and caps that do fit correctly

What size/colour are people using and with what oil?

Anyone tried their springs aswell?

The thread absolutely did change. This is a fact. You could look at my shock bodies next to each other and see the difference. The caps that I was using on the old bodies would not thread onto the new body, the new caps thread on fine. As I mentioned earlier, a factory AE driver confirmed the change.

Orange pistons front & rear work well with 30wt all around or 30/25 front/rear depending how warm it is where you live. Here is Chris Bridgewater's setup (TeamBighead) that should be a good starting point for you

Losi springs are a larger diameter than the AE ones, so they don't sit well in the AE spring collars. Ghea makes some nice collars that allow you to run Losi springs on AE shocks.

I know that they have had bad batches of caps with their TC style caps, this was confirmed and AE was aware of the issue. As mentioned earlier the plastic caps are just sometimes hard to start and need to be turned the opposite way to kinda seat them so they will start.

slight prob...

87/16 spur pinion combo will fit on a T4 with the stock black motor plate, but they won't even touch when useing the FT milled motor plate
