With any servo you get, most folks where I race the T4s, glue/weld up the servo saver. Even w/ the HD spring it will give or strip, especially on higher bite tracks....You turn in, the springs gives, then settles/centers, then the wheels turn. It causes big steering inconsistencies. so your servo may not be so bad if your servo saver is givening. To see what I'm talking about..Hold the steering rack while turning w/ the wheels w/ your hand... you'll see the saver give...ususally alot. I 'weld' mine together w/ fiber glass resin w/ the hardener, some folks just use CA glue. I've only broken one servo (cheaper hitech) by catching a wall. To me this is a must for the T4..some disagree but the inconsistent steering drove me mad. B4, not a problem w/ the smaller/lighter tires.

@PorTX - I've heard of this too, but try running it first before you go gluing the thing together. I've never had this problem with my truck and over the years I've worn out and replaced two servo saver assemblies, so my good fortune isn't due to Associated changing something in the design. Yeah my front wheels wobble but it's not nearly enough to throw me off.

And then, the T4 my Old Man drives has had crappy steering since the day we got it, no matter what we change or replace. ~shrugs~

I always figured if the guys in the World of Outlaws Sprint Car series can drive like this, so can I.

I think that using glue on the factory RTR servo would likely be a waste. I know the plastic gears in the RTR servo are prone to striping out anyway. I can only imagine that adding the glue would speed up that process. I am going to run the truck just as it is until either the servo gives up or until my new servo arrives!!

I guess this should be in here not where it was before.

Hi guys, ran my t4 today and noticed that it is running alot slower than normal. I have a mamba 6900 combo and running 4200 intellects which my charger has put 4600mah into. so i dont think it is the battreys. Just wondering why it is doing this, and what could i do to make it run quicker. Gearin is 87/17. also should my t4 wheelie with this sorta of power/gearing as i cant get it to wheelie at all.

cheers

alex

Things to check:

1. Pinion gear grub screw tightness
2. Slipper tightness
3. Diff tightness

have check the diff, slipper and pinnion. the novak 10.5 is 4200kv i think. Also with my motor it is gettin very hot but not hot enough 2 kick in the cut off. like i can only touch it for two seconds. wont increasing my pinion make the motor hotter. also does ur 10.5 pull wheelies

This is part of the reason why i don't use Mamba stuff, i can't even find any info on their website on gearing like Novak has. I know that you can't gear a brushless motor the same way you can a brushed motor, i'd say try like a 22 or 23 tooth pinion and see where you are at. If you undergear a brushless motor, it will heat up just like an overgeared brushed motor. But, if you over gear it, it will heat up as well. Even when geared right it'll still get pretty warm. And as for my truck, it pulls wheelies and has insane accelleration.

I run 18/87 with a Castle 4600 and my truck will pull the front wheels while rolling down the straight. Powered by MaxAmps 6000.

For bashing either one of those motors would work.
