There's nothing special about an OBA compatible ESC except the JST connector for taking power off the battery input to the ESC. I just soldered a JST pigtail to a Novak ACTIV8 ESC and use that to power a Traxxas OBA module.

Default 25 cars at once!

I know this is an off-road forum but I thought some of you might like to see a video of an extra event we held at the last indoor race of the DirtRunner's RC Car Club 2016-2017 season even though it was run on an Oval track. We were trying out a new scoring system which was supposed to handle unlimited cars so I suggested we have a race with all the Slashes we had in attendance. 25 people signed up to run a 10 minute race on a 110 ft run-line oval.

Unfortunately the scoring system crashed after about 2 1/2 minutes, but no one cared since people were having so much fun. There is one car with a blue LED underglow setup. That's mine.

Here's a link to the video on Facebook:

Picked up a basically stock chassis with lcg backslash and tryng to figure out how to keep it from blowing over at speed. For some reason the hcg chassis seems better for speed runs? Any other tire besides x01 that works for 17mm for speed runs ? First try was hobbywing sc8 with 3656 4000kv with 31/76 on 3s. Now I've geared down to 23/83.

I wouldnt say that the hcg does better for speed runs. what exactly do you mean by blowing over? is the backslash wing affecting this too?
This is my custom slash, however not meant for straight line speed, itll turn on a dime.

Body acts like a parachute at high speed and for some reason seems at a lower speed when it's a lcg chassis. (Traxxas one) I usually run with no body clips in the back it helps. The backslash ,maybe the wing is part of it,seems to flip over backwards at an even slower speed than the sct body. This makes no sense that a flatter taller body handles higher speed better.

I can't wrap my head around this without a video or pics. Are you pulling wheelies or lifting the front due to power?
PS I am surprised that this tread is not more lively?!?

I am building a Mudboss dirt oval racer from a new Traxxas Raptor. I purchased the aluminum caster blocks (3632A)and steering blocks (3636A). Traxxas does not provide any spacers or washers to go between these pieces. I think that's a bad idea for multiple reasons. What are you guys using between those parts?

I don't use any aluminum in suspension only for steering rack. I use rpm stuff.

Sometimes it's power yes. Sometimes just speed and airflow under body creating take off. Not finding a speed blow over vid of mine.

Ive gone through 3 brand 12t titan motors, all had bearing fail inside motor. Is there others getting crap motors that don't last?

+1 sad but true. Though you should at least get a month or two of fun before it goes

Are you breaking them in and if so how ? No reason for them to die so quick unless they are very overgeared or drivetrain binding. 1 or 2 D batteries with motor submerged in a glass of water dry oil bushings and go.

I've never used any washers between the caster block and kunckle, never had a problem with them rubbing or any friction. You shouldn't need any spacers for them.
