Hi guys just wondering If
1) the battery tray can be converted into a velcro straps so i can run taller batteries
2) is it possible to run 6s (2x3s) set ups with the standard clip on holder
thanks in adv, just looking at purchasing one but truggy version had concerns about motor length but apparently serpent's truggy ver is extended up front too

I also wondering about battery specs (but) versus oem battery box/tray - which measurements in mm will fit? Does cable position matters?
About to order S811 Be 2.0 RTR and of course I want to get some suitable LiPos in the same shipment =)

Hi!
A newbie building my first "real" r/c buggy, a 811 Be 2.0.
The shock pistons are marked as closed in the setup sheet and the included default 1,2mm" pistons have no holes in them..?
Is this correct?
All the other option pistons have holes and will most likely make a huge difference if installed..?
I plan on running the recommended 300 oil to begin with...
Any help, advice or direction to previous discussins will be greatly appreciated!

I am sure velcro straps can be made to fit, but it would take some dremling to make it happen. It is best to have the wires come out of the top of the batteries. I am not sure why the sheet has the holes marked as closed, but the pistons certainly need to have holes in them. I think the stock pistons are 6 hole pistons with a hole size of 1.2mm. I never really ran the kit oils, but depending on how it feels you may want to try some other shock packages. I remember the kit came with light shock oil and thin diff oil.

The thing is that the pistons in the kit marked 1,2mm doesn't have any holes in them!
When I contacted the shop they said that their spare kits looked the same, 1,2mm were without holes, so "then it must be correct"...
I can't believe that it IS correct but rather that a bad batch from Serpent has ended up in kits and bags..?
I'll probably go for the 1,3mm instead now to move forward but it would have been interesting to know if these racks with pistons are faulty or not..?
Greetings from a cold and snowy Sweden!

I dont any experience with the RTR, but I do know a 2250 KV motor is a lot of motor for even a large track. I wouldnt recommend running it on a small track certainly. If you want to change the motor out I would look at something around the 1900kv range. For a small track the motor you have now would probably be good.

Regarding to ESC, do you recommend replace stock ESC for something "better"? Anyone has experience with stock ESC and hobbyracing?

I thinking about Skyrc Toro TS150A... Does it make a sense?

Hi, thank you for your reply.. I would like to explain to you my choice. Stock motor was quite weak and I had problems with overheating.. (1650Kv, 1600 watts). My option was 17 pinion, max speed around 56km/h, final internal ration just 9,15.. I could't use smaller pinion because of speed. So I hve decided to change motor for LRP Dynamic 8 2200Kv (2370 watts) with 14 pinion, final internal ration is 11,12.. So motor has much more power and ratio is lighter. I hope thanks to this I will solve troubles with overheating and get the same or higher speed as well. Now I am still waiting for smalller pinion (14) and then I'll see

I will race (now is winter and snow in my country) on smaller, technical track, so that's why I have choosen 14T pinion..(spur is stock, so 46T) BTW According to the original instruction manual it is still too big because they recommend final drive ration 12,5 for2200Kv... I'm really looking forward for this new setup

I have the new ackermann set, but I wasn't able to test it back to back with the stock. However, I did use it in a race after I practiced with the old set up and it seemed good. The car had plenty of steering, didn't catch ruts and bumps as much (IMO) and felt really smooth. For the money it is worth it I think and at least worth a try.

Check the setupsheet a little closer and you will see that little box above the pistons says white holes are open and black holes are closed. And then you look at the pistonholes on the setupsheet. Are they white or black?
If you don't have the setup with you I can tell you to use the ones with 6 open holes and stamped 1.2.
If you have a track with small jumps you can start with the default setup. It's rather good here in europe but we seldom have those supercross style tracks over here. And as the car loosen up and you you do your first service (as you should do kinda shortly after your build to get all det fabrication "guck" out of the system) then you could start chaneging the oils after your own driving style and track.

Velcro straps work great. I've just removed the plastic battery straps and side guards. Home made rear stiffener that takes place between the rear and the carbon plate (option) behind the central diff.
Batteries can be moved forward or backward in a second.
Tekin T8i 1950kv and 4600Mah shorties. 15min of runtime at least.
RTR it's 3.215kg.
Tested it !! it's amazing how it works ! far better than the stock layout...

Hey serpent guys, thinking about picking up a new 811be 2.1. If there's any team guys on the thread what upgrades does the car need out of the box? I noticed a few variations of the aluminum C-hubs. Wondering which ones guys are running, if you could post part numbers even more helpful. Thank you!
