I came across a snag with my build. The steering is all put together, posts, links akerman bar etc...yet the assembly does not rotate smoothly. Its very stiff. Not like my 10th scale buggies that rotate so easily. I can't image a servo pushing this with any speed.

I loosened the tension on that spring and that helped a little but its not longer at 4mm like the manual says. Any suggestions?

The large spring you're referring to, servo saver spring, is not the culprit. It's most likely in the ackerman bar mounting screws. Try backing them out a full turn to see if that frees up your steering. If it does, Frank L gave me this tip, take the screws out completely and remove the ackerman bar. Put a drop of CA glue in the hole, careful not to get any on the contact surface where the ackerman plate sits, and then reassemble. When reassembling make sure not to over tighten these screws, just touch them down and the CA glue will help keep them from vibrating loose.

I had the same issue on my car and now all is buttery smooth!

The tolerences on serpents are like no other. On my first gen. Nitro buggy no matter how far I backed out the Ackerman screw it was tight, so I wet sanded the shoulder till it was free

Im am considering getting an 811e buggy, but have some questions, is there any problem areas on this buggy? Does it require any upgrades? Is the parts support good, I know in the past serpent parts were hard to get.

I have run with savox 1267 on stearing and 1258 for throttle. 1258tg working good for throttle, and after year 1267 have burned. Now I change to Radio post Multi for throttle and Torgue for stearing. I like more Radiopost for stearing its look like its have more torgue and more speed. For throttle bougth good and 1258 and multiple.

Car is solid. Upgrades...Ive been running the car stock but the hard Anodized shock caps and the Aluminum towers would be worth the investment. You can find parts at Serpent America, or Absolute Hobbyz.

I was thinking about trying it out but haven't gotten around to ordering yet.

Absolute hobbyz has them for half the price of Amain. Don't know if this price was a mistake but I would buy them quick before they catch on.

also to add shock pistons, and ive gotten all my parts from amain so far.

They do make changing the sway bars much easier. You will have to cut down the wire a few mm when using them in the front, otherwise it rubs the front bumper. These also run a little stiffer then the stock sway bars, so a 2.3mm (new) feels approximately like a 2.5mm (old).

I dont understand what the CA glue in the hole would do. I tried it with lock tight and seen no difference. I guess I may try the sanding next but seems to me something else is wrong since its tight even without the ackerman bar.

-Edit- after taking the the links off, I can see the problem lies in the carriers...they are to tight. I'm going to take some of those plastic spacers out and see if that helps.
