Thanks Chris, I meant +6mm overall. I have spaced the standard DE wheel out 1.5mm each side (+3 overall) and found the same results as others have stated. Faster more stable

I figured you did, just wanted to make sure others didn't get confused and think that there was another wheel out.

Weirdest thing ever just happened......
one of the motor screws came undone and went around the belt and got caught in the front pulley :weird::lol:

Chad Smith 01-06-2012 02:12 PM

Took the front end apart to check the servo and fiquire out why I allways had to adjust steering trim. Turns out that the screws where loose on the slider bracket so the servo was constantly moving. So a tip to everyone just building there kit make sure you crank down on those screws! :D

So for those who have tried the new Jconcepts +6mm Hazard wheel over the standard wheel are you all convinced that it is "THE" wheel off-set to have?

I chatted with DE Racing about making a wheel with the +6mm off-set also but I personally have never used the Jconcepts wheel. I have been using spacers to add 3mm to my truck (as wide as I can go) with the standard DE Racing wheel and feel the truck is considerably better. I assume +6mm would be even better.

:tire:

The Hazard rims are nice., Less traction rolling and can keep more speed into the corners

Only problem we are having is keeping the axle nuts on. They seem to keep getting lose.

Is anyone using the STRC tensioner pulleys?

Goods/Bads ???

johnbugman 01-06-2012 02:31 PM

yes got 2 strc pulleys they are a must. oem plastic wear out really fast! there so cheap anyway. Also i noticed my nylon lock nuts dont really have any thread protrusion with hazard rims. so far so good though.

Not a 100% but I think with airtronics servos you will need an extension wire...

I still don't understand why this is such a big deal to people. There was like 3+ pages worth what servo's needed extensions and which didn't at the beginning of the thread. Just do like I did and next time you order something from hobby king, just buy a dozen of them in different lengths. Think they are like a dollar each.

Can't wait until Sunday to run mine on the track again. I'm stuck working late tonight, tomorrow is series races that I'm not in, and Sunday is open.

Isn't that a good thing? It's better to slip a bit than to strip out a gear or wheelie out of control right?

So long as it is just a little bit I really am not worried about it. Again, this was on carpet and only happens flooring it from a dead stop. I really do not think it is a problem, just something I noticed.

Did you flip the washer between the spring and the lock nut? This allows you to fully compress the spring.

I did flip the washer and tightened it as much as I could. The spring is fully compressed so I am pretty confident it is not going to go any tighter without the use of an impact driver :)

AZ that is a bit strange but if you are on carpet it is possible. your not going to have that much traction on any track! interesting though that during testing i left mine loose for an entire race and couldnt hear anything, it just slipped with no sound?? and i am still running the same plates and balls. one thing you can do is install the V2 HD spring and it will put more pressure on the plates.

actualy i just re-read your post, your actually pushing the truck away from you and flooring it?? Lets not do that anymore!! not good for a heavy 4wd truck compared to a lightwieght 2wd buggy!

Now now, I wait for it to stop before I floor it! I just do it this was so it comes right back to me. I am just lazy that way :) I can try the v2 spring if it seems to become a problem. Again, I think this is a great product and am not in any way worried about the tiny bit of spin I have on carpet.

servo

so i see a lot of people asking about their servos, so i am too. i have the futaba s3305 is this enough or no?

johnbugman 01-06-2012 05:13 PM

I would recommend 180 inch lbs and up... at least .09 speed. high voltage capability as well.
