whats a good motor for this truck i have mmp esc and like to keep it for this kit. and i dont race an it will be ran on 2s or 3s lipo pack.

For just playing around and bashing the castle 1415 will work. It will fly on 3s. And you can run it for hours and not worry about motor temps. But fitting a 3s pack takes some mods unless you run the lipo on the motor side.

Agreed! It's easy to forget that with all the talk of "must have" mods and what not. I like to hand the Tx over to guys running bandits and slashes and watch their jaws drop when they go drifting though a big sweeper!

Ok cool then you will be fine. That 1415 2400kv is like I said a great bashing motor. You can gear it for anything and never have to monitor temps.
I ran that motor for a little and it did its job.

Is the 1415 really 160 bucks? If it is I would suggest the 1410 from castle creations. You can buy it for 60 bucks on ebay it is only a 540 can but the people that I run with never had to worry about temps with that motor. And the extra kv is nice

I just got home from the track and running my truck for the first time with the garodisc and 2 stage pistons. Thank you Marcus for a couple of great upgrades. Handeling and speed is greatly improved, especially in the rough sections. We didn't have the system hooked up but it was clear I was running faster laps. We are racing on saturday so I will report on lap improvements. The only issue I am having is keeping the nose up on the larger jumps. Before the upgrades I couldn't get the nose down on the big jumps. Any ideas on finding that happy median would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe you have less rebound on the front than before? maybe you need lighter oil up front on heaver in the rear?

the highest kv 4pole I hear people running is a 4600kv. I think 3s would be out of the question for that motor and you would need like a 10t or 11t pinion to keep temps down.

hows the 3800 one for this kit

I have run a 5700kv 4pole 1406 castle motor in my truck and it did fine on my 220x85 ft 1/8 track. geared at 12/62 and my max temps were 150 on the motor. It does lack the torque of the 550, or pro4 motors, however they are like a happy medium between the 540 2poles and 4x4 sc specific motors.
