Ran mine for the first time today. 1415 on 2s geared 16/62. 5k/5k on diffs, no
sway bars. really mello, easy to drive, slow on top end. Switched over to my 1410, same gearing. Tons of power, great top speed. Didnt have any 3s on hand to try with the 1415.

Ran my buddies truck for half a lap, his set up with 50k/5k and home made sway bars, truck felt extremely planted like the Losi, just way better steering response!

Ran with and without clicker, locked was more stable at the expense of initial turn in, less tendency to roll. with clicker, incredible turning, easier to roll. I think the clicker is going to be another great tuning tool from track to track.

I am absolutely loving this truck! within a couple weeks, we should have great baselines to go by.

On another note, has anybody tried lighter fluid in the front? It seems like a huge jump from 5k all the way to 50or 60k fluid. I bought some 30k fluid after running today, am going to try that for next time out.

This doesn't help your immediate situation, but did you set your endpoints? If you didn't, that's probably why the servo died.

I want the mamba max pro combo but you can't get it with the 1410.
Two questions:
1. The 1415 seems to fit...anyone not get it to fit?
2. What are the negatives from using it compared to the 1410?

Thanks.

I have not seen anyone recommend the 1415 over the 1410. In fact I have not seen anyone recommend any motor over the 1410.

Too low kV rating means it must be geared very tall to work on 2s. Operating at lower rpms means less efficiency and more heat. I'm not sure there's any advantage.

This 2400 1415 motor is pointless unless you are running 3s or 4s on a 1/10 scale 4x4. Bigger is not always better.

You don't need the 1415 in this truck, it's huge and way over powered. On 3S geared the exact same as 2S with the 1410, the speed is.9 mph quicker over the 1410 with lower voltage. The 1415 is a great motor, just not for this truck IMO.

I would check the front gearbox screws. There are three screws for the front gearbox, two are 24mm and one is 26mm. I accidentally put the 26mm for the lower screw. This caused the screw to come through the other side and bind the front clicker pulley flange 91013, causing unwanted tension. Took me a while to figure out what was binding.... After figuring that out I am very pleased with this truck

+1 on checking your transmission mount screws....before you put in the clicker check to see if any of the transmission case mounting screws are sticking out....mine caused a huge binding issue before i ran power through it, just in free wheeling.....turns out i screwed in one of the screws too far..lol

Why is castle bundling that motor with that esc? Can you buy the motor separately?

Any particular reason for running the 32p with the 1410? 32 is just a bit stronger than 48, no? I ran it 17/93 with my 1410/MMP, never got over 130, but needs more top speed. 19 or 20/93 should get me there, just checking if there's something else I don't know...
Love the 4x, gonna wheel it again Thursday, can't wait...

bigs 05-15-2011 09:33 PM

why or why not would you use a 4.5 insteed of a 6.5 ?

Got a gearing question for you all.

I'm running the castle 3800, same motor I ran in my jammin geared 16/46 for around 38mph. In order to get the same top speed I need to run a 17 on the SC10.

I haven't heard of anyone running that size pinion w/ the 3800.

Anyone running 17t w/ the 3800?

Here's a gearing chart a friend of mine made.

+1 for this question. I am also running the 3800 with the provided 48 pitch and a 17 tooth pinion. The truck seems great, but I have only run it in front of my house for a few minutes at a time, and it feels as if it needs a lot more top speed.

This forum is great and I would like to thank you in advance for any help. :)

what motor and esc / gearing ?

I ran an old Novak 6.5 with my LRP SXX TC V2 ESC. 14/93 gearing. Motor ran fine and the hottest it got was 145 after 10min. I have an old 550 7.5 HV that I'm going to try before I decide what LRP motor to get. So far the 540 motor seems to work fine but I have a larger outdoor track that I need to do some testing at as well.

Which servo horn for a xp ds1015?

Maybe a more comprehensive list could be added to the front page?

Nevermind its "F". I didnt realize the only difference is in the splines on the servo.

watching that, id start with chris jarosz's setup, it will handle MUCH MUCH better

Ok, I finally got the truck finished. Just need to paint a body now. Anyone have any feed back on the proline Flotek body? I normally run the Jconcepts bodies since they feel like they use thicker lexan...but the flotek body looks cool. OK, I just saw the flotek thread...body looks good but it seems very similar to the raptor. I think I'm gonna stick with a raptor mostly due to it being thicker so it should last longer.
