I've been running the FastLap Product's clutch basket and chassis brace for the past month with zero issues. They both definitely help the truck out handling wise!

Check out the website and send Billy a message.

building brace

Hey MBA ,

I built mine out of .025carbon fiber tube from hobby shop 1.99 for a 3 ft length you need 22 cm per brace . I used some hd rod end that came with the balls , all hardware, spacers ect that ran about 5.99 for a pack of 10. I used hole in front that goes to the steering asymbly and drilled out rear support above motor and bolted it thru there. Hardest part was drilling out the ball and spacers to fit the existing bolt to the steering. I also ran a zip tie on each end that i coated in ca to keep tube from spliting. First time i used shoe goo to adhere the rod ends thinking it would give some give on the hard lawn dart landings i am famous for , then tried staright ca to bond it , now working on some kind of tricky spring loaded end to absorb some of the shock and alow a small amount of flex.

It makes a difference for sure on handling and have not had any bowing of belt covers or belt issues ,and like i said i am famous as the lawn dart king

so for about 11 bucks including the #39 drill i bought to drill out ends and spacers i was able to make 3 of the braces . If he is selling them for 30 bucks , that is a good margin

Hey Chris, when is Ryan M's setup going to be availible?:sneaky::D

I just pinned the topshaft myself with no drillpress. A cordless drill, some drill bits, a file and a vice grip. Easy as pie:nod: dont be scared guys:smile:

I'm not sure, I'll have to talk to R&D about it.

I don't have the clutch basket, it is required for running the pinned topshaft mod?

What pads are you running with the basket, and are you guys going to redesign the cover to fit without having to cut it out?

I just pinned mine and will get to try it out this weekend. I am running the clutch basket , are you guys finding slipper setting to be about the same no pin vs. pinned? I have been running the nut flush on mine.

Anyone using a Savox 1251 for steering?

I count four friction discs in that basket in front of him. Given that they cut the cover out to clear the structure's additional height, I'm almost certain of it, but I could be wrong.

I wonder what they are using for an idler gear.

I don't have a local hobby shop. The one that is 30 miles away doesn't have anything. If I could figure out who to order it from online at that price, I would and just make my own.

On Live Rc website you can zoom right in on the photo. I only see 2 pads in that basket. http://a5.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...08721150_n.jpg

CraigMBA 10-13-2011 06:44 PM

The light part is the pad - there's three in that picture. The dark part is the other part of the friction surface (like the slipper back plate).

Three pads plus the one on the rear makes four. I win!

(In fairness I counted four without the zoom, thank you for the pic - if you can zoom it while using Chrome I don't know how to).
