I hear ya, but apparently its ok, Mugen use this type of setup also where the pin is captured by the bearing. Snap Rings would have been nice.

Just a thought, are you sure you put the 32p spur gear on? Both a 32p (big tooth) and 48p (small tooth) were included with the kit. There is a chance you got mod 1 pinions, which is what most 1/8 scale uses. 32p is essentially mod .8

Default Ughh.

I went to amainhobbies racetrack this morning to run some laps on mine, running a MMM 1410 combo, truck feels VERY nice. It's fast but also smooth and quite predictable, it drives like a fast stadium truck IMO.

One issue though, after driving an hour and a half to get to the track, in the middle of the first pack a shock piston screw broke off, flush with the end of the shaft and I couldn't get it out so my day was done quite early

Long day of qualifying...

Got to get Ae drivers Scott Brown & Kody Nemedahl test her
out after the racing was done .

Was Fun
Giving them their first spin with Ae's latest edition to it arsenal...

After some discussion was decided dumping the 30W in the ft for 35W to help control the roll in the sweeper...

I am going just a couple sec slower than my 2w Mod bug times...

Truck is performing awesome for me...

Raced on a carpet off-road track today (first time) for the first round of the Short Course Crush series here in Oregon. Had a ruff start replacing the only plastic gear in my servo after my first practice pack. Hit a BRICK on the track! So practice was about over when that was fixed. Made some sway bars and had to do some tire tuning to keep it from traction rolling. Ran 30k in the front diff and 3k in the rear. Clicker locked in for super brake action. I used a Murfdogg 5.5 (540) and an RS pro with a fan. I had more top end then any thing on the track and they were using 1/8 scale motors and foam tires on the Losi's. I was the only one on slicks that I made. Ended up taking the overall win the first time out. Defiantly turned some heads at the track. Can't wait to get this thing in the dirt!

PS. besides the servo that was my fault nothing broke bent or blew up. All adjustments I made responded very well and I had a blast driving it for the first time.

Out of the box besides no sway bars I give AE and A+.

Got to run mine for the first time today....haven't dealt with a slipper since my first stampede a couple years ago.....I used to have a losi scte and before that a hyper 10sc and BEFORE that I've owned several other trucks with a three diff setup....this truck compared to my scte was harder to drive and more twitchy,..kinda like driving a 2wd...but that stuff aside (once my slipper was set) it turns on a dime, drives on rails, ... And once I get used to driving this thing, will eventually be faster than my losi.....it's crazy how different these trucks drive!

Couple practice packs today, first time out. MMP/1410, 50k front diff, 5k rear, DD's front, Barcodes rear. My track, OCRC, is a clay, high traction, med size. Geared 17/93, fast in the tight stuff, but needs more top speed. Esc at 95, motor at 130, after 20 min run. Gonna go to 18 or 19, see what happens. First run, with clicker going, it was tricky to turn in off power, but fun to drift it around. Clicker locked, way different, more stable.
No problems, but I am gonna check the shock screws this week, and change fluids. Only issue in the build was that I stripped out the plastic around a front shock mount. As soon as the big nut on the back hit the nylock, the whole shaft twisted and rounded out the plastic. No biggie though...
Bummed that the used MMP I picked up for it shut down every time it went upside down, or took a hard hit. Switch cut off already...
I really liked it, and looking forward to more time with it. The 2wd's gonna get some rest!
