So you like the mayfield setup on that track?

I'll just form an opinion by experiencing it. thanks
I started out with the bladders & they were good but when I switched to emulsion style shocks my lap times were faster, more traction & the truck was more stable on landings...haven't changed back since. I definitely recommend you trying it.

It's a place to start. I just used it as the base to test the other stuff with. Really I should be able to jump the one table top and land on the other. It was faster but unstable to hit with this set-up.

Yeah, A baseline of course. Okay. Thanks Cameron. Don't worry, I'll be waving as you go by me. =)

Default Just Started Building a New Kit

I just started building a brand new SC10 4x4 Kit. When I got to page 8 on filling the diffs with diff fluid. I took the first diff apart and noticed when I removed one of the small flat head screws, there was plastic still stuck in the threads of the screw. I thought to myself, "wow I hope this one was not stripped out" So after filling the diff with AE 10,000 diff fluid, as I was tightening the screws, I noticed that one screw was not tightening as tight as the others, and sure enough the threads in the diff is already stripped out. Dang

Have any of you had this same problem? if so, is there a quick fix? or did you just send the diff in to AE for a replacement?

Im looking through all my spare and scrap screws now. Hopefully I will find one similar but just a tad bigger. Maybe that would work? or is it best I just send that diff to AE ?

Also what diff fluids do you guys like in your diffs weight or thickness wise?

Thanks

Call Matt, and tell him Carlton said you need more rip. I'm giving him a hassle, but I mean it. He'll get it.

Not Common.

Well it looks like I won't be racing the Rockstar Series at PRCR. Just not in the cards. Next year.

I like the emulsion but having never built them before, I have no idea if I did them correctly to proper feel and etc. The fronts suck the piston into the body about a quarter inch if I force them out quickly, the rears don't. Tried to solve this and could not. There's suppose to be an ass-ton of slop in the shock until air and oil mix, I'm sure but man does it feel all wrong.

One thing I noticed PanicRev doing when he rebuilds or refills his shocks is pumping them for like a minute each. I'm thinking that it makes sure that the air and oil mix or at least the shocks settle down and perform like they are going to normally. In any case...that's about the only thing different from the video he posted earlier. He DID say that it was an IMPORTANT part of the build when I asked him about it.

Don't know if it'll help...but...well...there you have it.

It feels weird on the bench, but it's good.

Negative pressure in an emulsion shock is definitely not bad, positive pressure building will blow oil out the O-rings.

Well was finally able to get mine on the track for some tuning.

My set up:
Ft sx 35 oil
Rr sx 45
Preloads set to manual
Havok 4.5 ballistic
Havok pro esc
Savox 1258
DX3R
Proline 2.0 suburbs

I've driven this truck once before with no luck due to cheap servo problems. I put in down friday on a clay track that was dry. Steering is ungodly fast I've gotta learn to control that, track felt like a sheet of ice! No traction at all. Switched to stock tires and traction was better but still bad, seems everyone is running HB megabites so I'm going to try those.
I'm having rear shock bleeder screw leakage so I've also gotta fix that. I haven't followed this thread since page 130 so are there any things to look for and or do?

Page 130? that was back in May! You have a lot of catching up to do! Lets see, sway bars, shock pistons, dif fluids, Clutch baskets, slipper disks, chassis braces, saddlepacks. If you miss a week, you miss a lot.

Lol yeah that's why I haven't gone back to read any of it lol, I did skim page 1 again for anything new but it appears to have not changed much. I do like the looks of the saddle packs, I have thr high torque pads but not the basket.
I would like to get a spring kit and sways. What the pistons about? I don't remember what diff oils I have I want to say 7k from 10k rear I think I marked them upon installation.
