The pictures on the site aren't of the v2 basket which has the inner corners milled off so you can poke the pads out and it sheds some weight and thickness as well.

MTK i know him personalty . he is a great guy shame on all you out there copying his design . Steve worked really hard on it . i think AE should offer him a job as R&D

There are a couple people still running stick packs, with great success too! Steven Hartson won the 3rd round of the Short Course Showdown series with a stick pack!

Unfortunately I don't have one, however there is one on their website, www.fastlapproducts.net

Their clutch basket looks no different than the mtk other than the vented plate. A lot of you were speculating many more "layers" a few pages back, hence the pic request. I will just keep playing with my truck as is. Granted, it takes a lot of tuning to be manageable but it is a fun truck to mess around with and my 8yo has taken a shine to it. Definitely not kick ass like my 8.2 though.:)

I think the guys were speculating on the AE clutch, not the Fast Lap one. RC and RM both ran an AE designed clutch at the Reedy Truck Race.

With a 3A BEC, I don't see you KILLING the ESC, but I do forsee brown-outs in tight corners where the system has to work harder to turn the wheels, and you may be doing some back and forth to correct... Rather than a turnigy BEC, the Castle one is only about $25. EVERYONE up here running an MMP and a high powered servo is running the Castle BEC with no problems.

Oh, and connecting the RX directly, you need to make sure your RX can handle 8.4v (full lipo charge) and you need to make sure your transponder, and anything else can handle it too. If you connect the Servo power directly, then you only need to worry about the servo handling 8.4v.

I'd rather see you spend the money on a proper BEC than buy a $100 servo just so that you can hook the power leads directly to the battery...I sold my HV savox to a buddy so that he could put it in his SC104x4.... Sure, it is a little quicker, but after driving his truck and my truck, with similar setups, I can't feel a difference. The 1256 keeps you connected to the truck nicely.

Thanks, I need to run by the LHS today to get some Diff oil anyway (Truck is arriving tomorrow) So if they happen to have CC BEC i'll go ahead and pick it up, otherwise i'll stick with the internal on the esc for now. I noticed that there doesn't seem to be a lot of people running the Havoc Pro ESC, so If I have any over heating problem, i'll probably swap it out for the RX8 and use it's BEC.

I also have a spare channel on the RX and I have the Rx Cap comming with the other parts maybe that will suffice.

I've been running mine with saddles for a few months now. I'll never go back to stick packs in this truck. It's way more predictable and stable. Once I install the Tekin 4-pole, I'll shift the batteries back towards the center to have it balance out.

On another note.. I'll support MTK and his original idea, before I'll support a copied design. It's a shame it's so expensive for "the little guys" to protect their designs, but that's a discussion for another thread.

Yep, just did. Gotta love those 3rd quarter bonuses! ;) I think you really need it with a 550 can motor. As far as the saddle mod, check the link below. From what I could see in the pics, I think it's very similar to what they were running. I use saddles anyway so I don't have to double up on batteries for B44, will end up trying the mod at some point.
