Default SC10 4X4 Saddle Packs- Reviews?

-THIS IS THE CURRENT SETUP I AM RUNNING-

Post #33 on page 3 has the info on how to do this to your truck

Current Layout-

Current Setup on Truck-

-Original 1st post of this thread-

After running my truck the past 2 weeks I wanted to try something different with it. Ive been looking for more steering and figured Id give this a shot.

If you have tried it please post up as well with pictures and some thoughts

I just did this tonight so I dont have any reviews at this point but will update as I can

For starters we cut a piece of ABS plastic to create a rear fire wall to hold the packs in place. I attached this with (3) 3mm screws which we countersunk into the center chassis

Next we added 2 more holes from the side to help aid in support since the guys I'm racing with dont always keep it clean

(sorry, picture came out blurry)

However the screw is pinching on the inner wall and the out wall was opened up to allow the head of the screw to pass though. The nerf bars then cover up the hole making it look pretty clean

Here is our first test fit

Also the servo wire now exits the correct side and is long enough without and extension

To strap this down I used a B4.1 Carbon Battery strap that I stole from a frineds car and cut down (hope he doesn't miss it)

And here she is all ready for testing tomorrow-

Please ignore my ugly wiring job and that hideous speed control. AS funds permit I will be going with a TEKIN RS PRO and one of their new SC 4 pole motors when they come out

Also a huge thanks to Bryan at SMC for all the help

-Travis

Looks good....

I don't know many people that want MORE steering from the SC10.

Honestly, it's a great concept, if nothing more than for f/r balance. Let us know how it goes. Clean install no-matter how it turns out. Looks factory. Hopefully it goes as good as it looks. Good Luck.

From the few I've driven.....if I needed one thing, it would not be steering

I don't think there's anything wrong with the GTB. Why the hate?

Nice job, look forward to seeing your on track feedback.

I'd like to try that out, except I would put the batteries in the rear for more traction. Maybe you could try a front and rear saddle pack setup?

Excellent package Silver04RS. I was planning to do the same thing with my Sc10 4x4 mainly for F/R and side-to-side balance. I just need to get some saddle packs.

Please do post on how it performs. I think some of the AE Pros are running something similar.

This is a pic of I believe to be Kinwald's truck at the Short Course tour. Looks like the B44.1 lipo cradle placed in the front.

I think I will try putting the saddle pack in the rear. What's the worst that can happen? I replace a 13$ center section....
