SC10 4x4 Thread
#7861
Hey guys I'm currently running a Losi 8 with the Teckno conversion and love it. I am thinking about getting a 4x4 sc to play with also. Any thoughts on the upcoming rtr. I know everyone is going to say the kit is the way to go but, I'm not sure how much I am going to be able to put down the 8 and run the sc as my running time at the track is kinda limited. So if I find that I am not that into it it's only $389.00 (after tower coupon) that I've got in it instead of $700.00-$800.00 or so if I build it. If I find that I like it I can upgrade a little at a time. Question is do yall think it will be a decent drive and somewhat good handling and speed or is it gonna need a lot of upgrades right out of the box to make it decent. It's either gonna be buy the rtr in a couple of weeks when its in stock or wait till next spring when I can afford to build it and hope I like it.
Thanks for the input

This truck is unique to drive, and so far, this is my most favorite rc I have ever driven. Last weekend i drove a Losi scte, and it felt so slow and sluggish to react( it was almost brand new and probably not dialed yet), it was very stable though. The associated is so quick with imputs and so very agile, I love it!

We have 2 left hand sweepers and without balancing the truck it didn't handle them well. I'm running the Castle 1410 and it was way heavy on the pack side. I tried adding weight to motor side but took a lot and made it feel sluggish. Now it's light and balanced with some rear bias that helps rear wheel traction. I also don't have worry about battery height as much. The Turnigy 5000mah 40c's were a tight fit before. Now there is more than enough clearance since the pack goes in from the left side.

Any of you having belt issues with this truck?
I noticed the front tensioner is installed correctly but still does not perfectly align with the pulley. The tensioner also has a very sharp edge. It seems to snag the belt and cause it to flip onto the top of the tensioner.
I can try tightening it even more I guess....
It was fine for so long until recently.

Hey i just was wondering what you guys are running for a set up? my track is fairly large and is usually high speed with a couple 180's? track is smooth and its going to be cold its in a horse barn so you can imagine what we are running on lol
Also what are some of the key tunning items i have the sway bars but what else is needed?
Thanks Jason

Too many lawn darts maybe Kev? lol. The whole belt tunnel might be mis-aligned. I know my belt barely rides on the tensioner but that might have been due to the extra washer i was running behind the slipper pad.

The belt covers are a little jacked but that's because of the belt coming off not the other way around. I'll put my other belt on there and try it out. It lost enough rubber that it was loading up in the spur gear.
I might also throw a shim behind the tensioner so it lines up better with the edge of the pulley. I want the pulley to center the belt, not the tensioner with that sharp edge that seems to easily snags the belt and lets it climb over.

Hey Guys,
I'm totally new to SC Truck and trying to reuse some of the items left over from my 1/10 buggy. Much appreciated if someone can let me know if the following drivetrain will work on the SC10 4x4, I'm looking for opinion, reliability, efficiency and drivability. I have the following ESC-Moto combo:
LRP SXX TC version 1 ESC
LRP X11 4T Motor.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

The reedy sonic 550 was never made to compete with the pro4. The pro4 is a 540.
