hmm well i dont know what your track looks like, indoors? Im assuming outdoors? But you might be able to get the same results of adding weight by softening up your suspension a tad and balancing out your truck. I cant tell you how much better these things drive after doing some tweeking with battery placement.
And honestly i dont feel there is another truck that can do better, maybe durango.

Tests are satisfactory nonetheless. Shortie LiPos are maybe the way to go, since they focus the weight onto the front drivetrain, what most of us do when we add weight.

Even with adding a shorty pack up front (i left about 5mm gap, used the foam from the side of the stock placement cut down) there is still atleast a 100 gram difference front to back with the rear being heavier. Im not complaining at all, my truck drives soo good now.

Nowhere near to the original 60/40 weight balancing lol. or was it 65/35?

How's the weight placement with saddles? Hobbyking has short saddle Nanotechs (74mm long), when my Intellect dies (it has well above 100 charges and STILL LOADS UP TO 5050mAh, Jesus!!!) I'll convert the truck to a saddler.

Since weight will be more towards the front, it will also gain crawling abilities (crawling takes up the 20% of the truck's usage... and I've had very very good moments crawling the rocks )

Where is Mayfields setup located?

Artikbot 08-23-2011 03:42 PM

RC10.com

Over here: http://www.teamassociated.com/setupsheets/SC10_4x4/

Edit: Ooops! That's Cavalieri's setup, not Maifield's!!

I don't have a clue where to find it :(

How about Kinwalds setup?

Edit: Wo. Ah. The truck felt much more predictable while steering on-power... This is how saddlepack drivers feel like...? If so, when my IP LiPo dies... I'll simply buy a saddle and get it sorted.

I have found my car is better with saddles. ez to try if you know someone with a pack. I tried it out before I bought any.

Ok i re-measured my rear width and im sitting at 294mm with DE wheels and some 2.0 suburbs and tekno hexes.

OK, in regards to the wheel width discussion a few pages back:

I'll let you in on my secret..........

Slash front wheel hexes all the way around with DE wheels.

1: You will need shorter pins (or sand a little off of the stock ones.

2: STRC or Stock plastic units work just fine after drilling for axle clearance.

3: DE Trinidad wheels for SC10 4x4!

4: Short serrated (TC Style) wheel nuts

This all equals out to 296mm.

Thanks for posting this Jimmy! I was just looking at my Slash front hexes last week and wondering if there would be enough thread left on the axle for the nut to latch onto. Good to know it works. Any comments on how much this mod changes the trucks handling?

what are the widest off set wheels?

I got the front hinge pin holder, rear 3-2 block, and aluminum tensioners. These parts are all super nic, but I didn't think the bell crank was a needed part. The rear toe blocks are bad azz

Any idea on the weight differences of those toe blocks and pin holder?

I didn't even think about putting them on the scale. The inner hinge pins will bind up fast in the rear arms so I was going to get the rear block regardless :D The pivot balls in the mount keeps the suspension silky smooth

I'm going to weigh my truck tomorrow, I will post the weight if I get around to taking them back off.
