Also, are the kit tires worth mounting up? If not Ill use the wheels for a different set!

Other than bashing the kit tires are junk. The rims are fine IF you plug the vent holes and the little holes on the inside bead! Not doing this cost me a race win and a tire in the end....PLUG THE HOLES!!! after all my years I thought I knew better,,,I was wrong.

I think that part # is listed by mistake. It's for the aluminum hubs on the b4/b44/sc10 cars

My back wheels pick up a LOT of dirt through those holes, but so far my tires have been okay since I have holes punched through them as well to let the dirt escape. I'm removing dirt from parts of the track and replacing it in others.

The tire lose, which it might not be, I haven't looked yet, is on me. I ran an outdoor/loomy track and the rear tire filled with fine/moist dirt which over a couple heat races amazingly turned into a dozen 3/16 inch rock hard balls that worked there way to the middle of the tire. The only way to remove these (I had typical 1/8 vent holes in the tire) was to cut the inner bead, remove the "balls" and re-glue the tire, which I've done MANY times. I wasn't able to get both halves of the tire clean enough and the joint separated while leading after making my way up from 7th on the grid. I'll be honest (unlike most) and say this was in the B-main, which isn't normally where I run but 2 bad qualifiers put me there.....I was on a top 4 pace at the time...coulda, shoulda, woulda,...I know:o

I'm just about as AE as you can get BUT if you're the guy who wants to put a truck together and just drive it, this truck MIGHT not be for you. The Losi owners I race with all say that the Losi is simple stupid and good right out of the box. The AE truck IMO isn't, you really need to have some set-up knowledge and be willing to put in the time to find a set-up that works on your track. If you can do that then this truck can be as good or better than the others. If not, then it won't be and you will be disappointed...IMO

This is the growing pains of a new platform. I agree with you but with that said, our local pro built the truck up box stock, no bars and only added decent tires and was able to run & win with the truck first time out being many with much more time on their trucks...

This is probably true. I don't feel I'm any type of tuning expert, but I was able to dial my rig in for my local track pretty quickly and without much practice or many changes. I guess that just comes with knowing the track and what the rig needs to do to get around it cleanly.

I wish I had more than the handful of 4wd SC guys to race and compare track times with, but I don't. My heats today consisted of myself and two others with Slash 4wd's. :( But I am right on pace with the 1/8 truggies and just barely slower than the 1/8 buggies. I run my 1/8 buggy about two seconds quicker on average per lap, mostly due to how much better it handles the huge bumps/ruts and because I can clear all the really large jumps, which shaves off a lot of time.

ohh ok, re-reading over your post I see what you were getting at.

Not saying I disagree, but look at where we are all at...a forum, for the most part we really don't know where we all race. So one guys local fast guy might have the name Ryan:sneaky: the next guys "fast guy" might me some basher schmuck but he's still the fast guy in the area. This is exactly why when people post about their results with this truck or any car/truck I simply don't give their post any credit.....

If you can walk and chew gum at the same time you can make this truck fast...:D if not then don't buy this truck and disgrace the AE brand..

Before people get pissed at my post I'm just saying that if the truck doesn't work for you don't blame the truck, without some set-up knowledge this truck won't work for many people. I can say that out of the box on my tracks with the guys I race with this truck was junk! If I was new and didn't know what to do with it I would be pissed and upset..small things on this truck make a BIG difference....that's the tough part for many people.
