A titanium/aluminum screw kit would help quite a bit on this truck.

I have the single speed version of this one from Home Depot. http://www.homedepot.com/Tools-Hardw...atalogId=10053

It put my SC10 4x4 together in one charge

Nice build Jimmy! I'm not jumping on the saddle pack bandwagon either. The truck feels amazing to me! In it's stock form with a few tweaks it handles amazing! Funny I have the same scales! I've been told it's easier to get a true balance on the scales without the tires on but haven't tried it yet.

Am I the only one not loving on his SC10 4x4? It has its finer points but it doesn't seem to handle well. I won the 4-sport class with it this last series but in the last few races it started having handling issues and didn't respond well to being driven faster. Will the sway bars help? I'm in the process of putting togethter both a Durango and SCTE....I have 2 of all of them. I picked up a SCTE and out of the box its easier to drive and easier to service. Wow, is it easy to service! It's like a great big version of the Jammin and even has an elite style slide in motor mount. Anyway, I'm not thrilled with my SC10 and will soon compare it to the competition. The one good thing about it is that it has not broken. Its very sturdy! My biggest complaint is that you virtually have to disassemble it to change the servo. Its not very track friendly in that respect......sorry about posting my random thoughts. I'm just not quite satisfied with mine. I'm still faster with my stock Kyosho SC-R.....it doesn't look as spectacular sliding around the track or catching monster air but it does give me better lap times. Anyway, i expected a little more form the SC10. Am I alone?

That is my heartache with this rig, the servo install.

QDRHRSE 07-21-2011 01:37 PM

If it handled better I could overlook the complexity of it.

That's a touchy subject and will receive some negative attitude. To be honest I've been very disappointed with it as well. It's a lot harder to drive over the Losi. The Losi just seems very predictable and forgiving where you really need to plan ahead while driving the SC10. I'm not sure if it's the heavier chassis on the Losi or what. If I had it to do over again I probably wouldn't have bought the SC10, but I'm trying to make it work. After a few upgrades it's doing a lot better.

finally got my sway bars

All I can say is wow this truck is fun !!! It handles sooooo much better now and Its so much more predictable and easyier to throw into the turns . I have to say team associated needs to pull there heads out of the mud and include these with the kit !! I installed the front first and drove it and honestly the front seems to do more then the rear all though I have both on it now . I LOVE MY SC10 ....but yes its a pain to get to the diffs and the servo and ive got about 50 packs through mine so I gotta tear it down and service the diffs and clean it all real good . but all in all im, happy with this thing ..ive even ran 3s a few times for shits and giggle and its held up good . I'm kinda shocked by what you said, being a racer and all

So what I'm currious about is how often do you change your servos? My bigest complaint would be tha the diffs are hard to get to because that is something id like to check every few runs until I can keep them full

As for handeling - if you're on a high bite track and don't have a lt of mo mo the 2wds are going to be quicker. It takes a lot of power to start and stop the extra weight and its even harder with the losi truck. Id take a stab at the Durango as well but if I said something mean it might break

The SC10 does leave a bit to be desired in stock form. But thts why there's pages of setup help here for you

Have fun

Travis

I don't understand why people need more accessibility to the servo..

"for me" I have never had to pull any servo out of my rigs and i've been at this for over 15 years.

Follow the instructions..set your end points and your good to go..

The only thing I can think of is the guys that think $30 buys a top of the line servo. I've seen countless break in trucks cause people are too cheap to buy good quality products

JayL 07-21-2011 02:18 PM

1. I have never changed a servo in a car and been in R/C racing for 25 years, I buy quality to start and/or sell the car for the new version before it goes. that's Nitro and Electric on and Off-road

2. this truck does not like to be thrown around like an 1/8 or the Losi it likes to be driven like a touring car. you will never be fast "Sliding Around"

Have you added sways and front inner link shims? Those two things transformed my truck

I didn't think of that..

Maybe thats why I have never had a problem..I never skimp on the electronics...
