I am running it on a large outdoor track made for 1/8 scales

I run the 1415 on an 1/8 scale track. On 2s. Geared 17/62
Temps around 115. Plenty of torque and top end.

I run the combo 1410 with fan on ESC and a small radiator on motor.
My track i a huge outside clay track in Texas so hot.... No problem of overheat, 160 for motor, 120 for ESC and 100 for lipo.
It s an amazing combo with great top speed and crazy acceleration. Gearing is 16/62.
Combo run hot but CC said it s normal.
Why spend more $, it s more than enough powerful.

ThunderbirdJunkie is running a 1410 geared 15/62 with his MM, he has yet to install his RX8 though. The RX8 goes in tonight.

I'll take 'em, if you still got them...

I'm running the 1410 with RX8 also. Great combo, can't see wanting any more motor.

Have it geared 13/62, run normally on a smallish indoor track. Ran it last weekend on a good size 1/8 scale track. Took the expo out and turned the end point up. No gearing change was needed.

Temps stayed in check on a 100 degree San Antonio afternoon/evening.

Ran my 1410 with an RX8 at a Clay track using 48P (93T/26T).
Temp at 7 min - RX8=120* and 1410=115*. No fan on RX8 and motor.
Timing Advance=50, Current Limiter=92 and Brake Strength=60
Plenty of Top End. No problem keeping up with 550's in the infield and the straights.
Bottom end calmed down with the high gearing.
Very easy to drive. No cogging.
Used a Robinson Alu Pro pinion.
Mesh is perfect. Smooth and quiet.

I just ordered the rear sway bar kit from speedtech. How many do they have left, not a clue. Hurry while they still have them

t4mania 06-30-2011 02:53 PM

Losi & Associated Parts House has the rears too..

With a SC4x...14t outdoors on a 1/8 track. I have a fan on the motor and it comes off around 135-140. Expect 160 w/o fan.

Last night I was able to try my sc10 4x4 with the sway bars and wow what a difference . I went 2 to 2.5 seconds faster than with my old setup minus the sway bars. It was much more predictable and had less tendency to oversteer in the high speed sweepers. Oh yeah and also ran the trackstar silicone orings and now the shocks are buttery smooth! The only problem that I had in the main was my BONE HEADED CHOKING move and blew the whole race in the first corner,But that is a story for another day!!!! lol:lol: :tire:-:tire:

b) I know someone managed to shoehorn either a Tekin or a Novak 1/8th scale motor into the motor bay on this truck, but you would have almost no room to play with moving the motor back and forth for gear mesh.... You would have to find the ONE pinion/spur combination that fit the best and stick with it

c) These trucks weigh half as much as an 8th scale buggy/truggy....the vehicles that motor was designed for... you planning on launching that truck into the next state?

Get a motor that was designed for 4x4 SC trucks. I know Hobbywing makes a few that are on the cheaper side...they even have ESCs aimed at SC trucks...

http://www.hobbywing.com/english/Pro...ruck BL System

though for the price, the castle stuff is looking pretty good. I always used to have a prejudice against Castle just because Slaxxas uses them....but the 1410 4 pole is beginning to make me reconsider.... That being said, Tekin will be coming out with their own 4pole soon....

BRILLIANT, thanks BlueGlowBoy.
