I'm having problems with my slipper. Running the regular factory slipper. the slipper pads appear to be glazing. I've tightened the slipper per the manual. I just put the high torque slipper pads and the same thing.
Should I just a whole new slipper assembly or vented slipper disc?
I'm running a Castle SCT system with the 3800kv motor.
Is there any advantage to running an aluminum belt tensioner pulley ?
Thanks for any help.

Clean the pads after 20 battery's or so ....
Suggest if your running indoors to remove the gear cover for better ventilation so the motor & slipper can run cooler .
No real advantages using a alloy pulley to my knowledge .

As mentioned recently by Shark in his testing and as I have experienced as well, the RC Shox Ball Diff conversion has been a big performance booster for the vehicle. Its worth a look if you plan to soldier on with the sc10 4x4.
But if you run on a track where the slipper when it doesn't glaze works well, give the Garodiscs a look.

I'm willing to try just about anything. I cleaned the pads 2 weeks ago and put them back in and it lasted about 5 minutes.
Last week put brand new pads in and doing the same thing.
Something started in the last 2 weeks that wasn't there before. Just trying to figure out what it might be.
How do you clean the metal slipper hub ?

The pads should be lasting you a lot longer then that cdlowe.
If they are glazing that fast you must be running the slipper way to loose .
If using the VTS with three pads , adjust the slipper nut to show about 3/16 of thread showing above the nut ...
Can try a extra pad on the out side of spur , will get even longer pad life & and improved performance ...

If you have a VTS and want to upgrade, here you go:

Or ideally, you will want this:

That said, to confirm, which slipper setup do you have, either the 2 pad or the VTS 3 pad setup?
the 3 pad setups do offer a perform boost, We were lucky in the early days to have clutch baskets like the one from Mac the Knife and others prior to AE releasing a VTS Slipper
My opinion though which a few others may agree, if you are going to keep the vehicle, give strong consideration to upgrading to the RC Shox diff.
