anyone had a problem with the belt coming off the front pulley under a short drive, With some hard breaking and turning.

once i set my tensioners (front and rear) to max tension, it seems to have stopped the problem. Although im unsure if it is too tight.

if i take the motor off the pinion, it rolls nice and smooth for a few feet after a short push.

the truck runs nice now, although it doesn't seem too tight, i just think that with the tensioners set to full tension, it seems wrong to have this.

also i run a tenshock 5200kv 4 pole motor with a sc8 speedy from hobbywing.

thanks guys.

Never have slipped a belt but did have a clicker melt.

I have the Tenshock 5200 but have yet to run it, how are your temps?

Since there's no cogging with the 4 pole CC motor

no cogging with the sensorless 1410 :weird:

sure there is cogging. try driving very slowly from a stop, and you will see that this motor does cog a bit..

temps are great. running a 11t pinion with the stock spur, 32 pitch, getting roughly 60 degrees celcius. with a 13 roughly 90 degrees celcius.

ill let you do the math.

What 540 motors have people been using with success?

Thinking about trying the saddle configuration.

ffpm46 06-19-2011 05:34 AM

Anyone using these?

I must have a special motor I have hardly any cogging at all. No hesitation what so ever. :weird:

I have that same special motor, whenever I do my first practice runs on the track I always start out real slow, and I've never had a cogging issue at all with the 1410 motor.........

I ran a velineon in my ofna before I sold it. now waiting for my AE 4x4 backorder to get to my LHS (hint hint AE rep, Back in stock this coming week?). FD ratio was 13.65 and it had NO problem pushing that truck around. I was runnin the same times as people with Novak Ballistic 550s...

If you ever find out who the man is lemme know so I can thank him, my 1410 motor is performing just as great as my 5.5 sc4x motor ;-)

Amainhobbies has the lightweight front and rear topshafts in stock, just ordered one of each, along with the Tekno clamping hubs.

Not sure if this was already asked/answered, but will these fit with no issues or modifications:
