If this thread continues to go off topic with name calling and insults, infractions will be issued from this point on. Consider this the warning.

Okay back on topic before I leave, has anyone used the T.I. Ballstuds and compared them against the regular ballstuds for durability?

I only ask because I bent 4 regular non T.I. ballstuds this week 12mm and 10mm on exotek hubs and on inner hole on shock tower. Granted all of them were bent bashing and hitting ramps and flying so not regular abuse by any definition and I have yet to damage any ballstud racing just bashing.
Maybe I should buy a traxxas to bash and keep my SC10 on the track only. It was interesting to watch the rear end of my truck slide sideways into a tree trunk at high speed on a high jump landing and not see my hubs damaged at all..

The TiNi ball studs weigh a bit less and should be stronger. I replaced all of mine with TiNi and bought some extras for +4 to +8mm mod tuning.

It's to bad the guys that helped develop the technology AE "stold" didn't patten their ideas then they could have filed a lawsuit and made a little cash. Hindsight is always 20/20. Nothing to get angry about. I personally feel the truck was good enough for indoor in its original form. I loved it so much I bough the team version recently.

So I had an opportunity on a new Novak Activ8 system, went ahead and got it.. gonna require some modification to fit inside my chassis, but from what locals driving it say it's an absolute beast of a system. I will say the build quality puts the Tekin RX8 to shame, but that's to be expected from Novak in my personal opinion.

I mainly did it because I'm scared to run Tekin during the summer in 8th scale, not with what I've read, and now seen, in person about how they can possibly react.. I've personally had 0 issues with my RX8, but not going to risk my cars in the off chance of it going up in flames.

Anyways, will report how this Novak drives on Wednesday when I jump straight into racing with it lol.

Oh, and speaking of racing. I TQ'd with my truck last Wednesday, and I've never seen so many Losi drivers upset hahahaha.

Thank You will keep that in mind when I order replacements.

The guy who made the original clutch basket actually commented on that and said the amount of money to fight it and duration in court would run longer than the truck would be in production before the next model came out. Plus he really wasn't trying to make a quick buck, he developed the clutch basket for himself, and wanted to share it with frustrated sc10 4x4 owners who were tired of the issues with the original slipper set up. That being said he made a product that was grass roots american engineering with the right marketing he could of sold a million. Unfortunately he only had a limited target audience for his product and a small web page still up if you ever want to check it out, but what a product, between him and MantisWorx this truck is alot easier to tune in. Plus racers are always looking for the next performance booster.

They are both steel (try it yourself, magnets stick to them) and identical weight (weigh them yourself). Their bending strength should be identical.

They are not without value. The titanium nitrided finish is much harder and the ball stud will never wear out. And they look pimp.

What you need is bigger diameter washers under the ball stud. This will spread the load out and you will bend the stud less often. I'll try to get you a part#.

I believe
filing a patent is a long & expensive process ...

I installed the first chassis brace on this thread....
Ae did not steal the idea from me .
They only had the same idea....

Not possible even for me to say they stole my idea or design...

Same would apply to basket clutch's IMO

A user posted something that was factually wrong. I pointed it out and stated that it was "bad tech" - not to be insulting, but because it was. As a result, I received a scolding and an infraction from the well intentioned moderation staff.

How many different nice ways can you say someone doesn't know what he is writing about without resorting to resorting to an obviously out of bounds:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2gmvxMJTXug&sns=em

So thats it, i give up. Apparently my way isn't appropriate. I did everything I in my ability to remain civil and fact based, but apparently that's not good enough and I'm tired of being nice to people who don't deserve it.

So, to thoseSC10 users who read this, I bid you a sincere and heartfelt:

Good luck!

Man, this was one of the best threads here and more and more people leave. I don't have the truck anymore since months, but i still read here... It's really a pity how many good guys leave this thread.

I'd love to see how you get it to fit -_-x, I had to do some heavy dremeling and create a bracket to get mine in with the Exotek chassis. Even if I had the forward saddle pack battery straps it'd still not fit w/o the work done. I'll try to post pictures tonight.

Ran my SC10 4wd for the first time this morning. Boy that copperhead 550 4500kv is fast.
Im glad I went and got it last night dont regret it one bit.
Took a while to figure out how to set the esc but I got it set for racing mode.
Im getting some new Lipos this week. Probably the 6200mah trakpowers.
Im telling you guys right now if you want a competitive setup for racing that
doesnt break the bank I highly recommend the Viper Copperhead 550 4500kv 4-pole and
copperhead R speed control.

I checked out the Novak site and got the dimensions , O-Man ....

The truck I'm building is for one of the latest Ae drivers from the N/w.

Harley is young and perhaps one of more popular driver's here in the N/w ...

I take great honor in receiving the task from Harley & will pound the Activ8 in with a hammer if I have too ...

Best of luck with your installation ..
Will share my results with my install later tonight ...
