overdrive in the front would be the front wheel spin faster than the rear. so should not do much of anything on jumps and you should have more speed on the straights with more gear. it help mostly with on power / the front wheel will pull the truck around corners and make it harder to spin out. off power should be about the same.

Stay away from the overdrive or the underdrive pulley it's just going to make the car less predictable Kings's advice is very good I've never tried the exotic chassis but I was able to get my car to have a pretty done good without it i don't own 3.5 toed either but I do have a set of mip Pistons in it But I don't run them like the Luces do I run them upside down The only problem I have anymore is traction rolling because I have to much grip My set up can be found back in the pages of the thousands

Has anyone tried's Ceramic bearings in the tensioner

I did switch the tensioners to Yeah Racing SC10X-038DB. It has a larger ID bearing, which should slow down the bearing speed. I can't tell you if they are any better, but at $6 for the bearings and an aluminum pulley, it can't be worse.

I bought them here:

Cool ill chill on the overdrive stuff. I was hear about these option for cars but never really looked into. I had major drag(wheels stopped right away off throttle) and the truck did great with stock setup. Truck is growing on me big time. I hope I can get some good run time in tomorrow before the misses get off.
Ok another question, trying to figure out the difference from the rtr, kit and FT model. My truck came with front and rear sway along with the rear tower that can house the body post. My truck has the silver sway bar that only goes from the front gearbox to the rear. The brace doesn't reach the rear tower like the ones when I search FT pics. Also how can i tell if i have the updated belt cover before i buy another? What am I working with?

Run the 20T front & rear ...

Truck will be easier to drive and more consistent...

not sure of the rtr/// but if your shock are blue and you only have one pad on the outer slipper/no chassis brace. you have the non FT

Titian2010 02-13-2013 09:22 PM

Must be a non FT with minor upgrades. Has two pads because I just installed them new but blue shock bodies. Thanks I don't know how I missed the color shocks. Was on amain comparing pics and didnt notice.

Do you guys recommend I get the updated vts system or high torque pads? I'm using the ballistic 4.5 with mmp. I'm not racing it. Its just for track fun during down time.

Don't wast the time get the center diff and use the motor limiter to stop wheel spin

9turn 02-13-2013 11:33 PM

Dose any one have some ft shocks they to sell or trade I have to stage pistons in the stockers pm me

The VTS has been proving itself with results like last week ends Sc Show Down Tour in Tacoma .
I highly recommend using .
Use the HD pad behind the spur gear and the VTS basket & pads ..

Brings more traction , less wheel spin ....:)

When you say center diff you mean the vts correct? Sorry I'm still learning the truck so I'm lost with some things. When you say center I picture the center diffs on my 8 scale stuff. Didnt know my truck had a center diff so yeah newbie in this class.

But thanks all for answering my questions. I've been around with different cars and sometimes guys just point or say read back to day one which I'm doing but thanks

No there's a bald available for this truck the one with the pins in it works the best

Cain 02-14-2013 12:22 PM

he is talking about the RC Shox Center Diff. Excellent item. Its a ball diff that has pins you can insert behind the balls (or to the side depending on how you view it) that you can adjust the diff action. in general 4 pins is where you start, I liked 8 pins on carpet, excellent diff action still be loads of power.

Looking to go outdoor racing with the 4x4. Looking at the LRP 4.5t and the Reedy 4.0. Racing on mostly hardpack, some clay. Local racers using anywhere between the 4.0t and a 5.5t. Should I go with the HP of the 4.0t or the 4.5t. Coming from a RTR setup that has been upgraded with the FT kit and sway bars. I have run mostly indoors where HP does not really come into play. Thoughts?

Wild Cherry 02-14-2013 12:28 PM

The Sonic 550 4.5 will have plenty of speed and will be smoother then a 4.0....

A lot of the faster racers around my area use the Reedy 550
