no prob. wish I could help more but don't have the vehicle to look at. Good thing, the 3.5 degree setting was pretty much money on anything where you wanted better rear bite. AE could make a killing making a similar item.

Sc4x4 class

Reedy 550 Sonic brings victory for Mike Brown and his Ae Pro-Lite

Happen today in the 3rd round of our racing series touring our best N/w indoor tracks ...

also ....
2nd place used a Reedy Sonic 550

and again....

3rd place used the Reedy 550

Watched the guys with the 4 poles,
they were quite a bit slower out of the hole compared to theBig Block Sonic's...

Also discuss tonight with the
local Tenkin rep and he told me the 550 motor has more torque because of its larger rotor compared to the 4 pole ...

Don't run that thing.

Every once in a blue moon someone will post about a broken servo saver and most have it adjusted way too tight.

Get a new stock part and adjust saver tension to stock setting.

If you really want to make it bomb proof (but not necessary) get the strc bell crank & rack.

I broke 2 because they were to tight. I am still on my third replacement. I did not make it so tight and it has been well. I drive it hard.

AE SC: What pinion size are you using? I read that you are not able to pull out of turn hard enough.

The plastic it is made of flex's enough to act like a saver when glued .
Improves the steering response & feel .

Tip
Use a high grade servo with metal gear if you do it this way....

You have a part number for the big block sonics you saw used? Reason I ask is that the sonic 550s look like there rotors are 12.5mm (looking at the replacement rotor) spec:

http://www.teamassociated.com/reedy/parts/details/970/

Tekin's Pro4's are 18.5mm ...

http://www.teamtekin.com/Pro4.html
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXBWVH&P=7

MOTOR P/N TURNS VOLTAGE KV ROTOR
Redline PRO4 4600 TT2500 1Y 2S 4600 18.5mm
Redline PRO4 4000 TT2501 2D 2S 4000 18.5mm
Redline PRO4 3300 TT2502 2.5D 2S-3S 3300 18.5mm

Or, for those that work better visually:

Reedy

Tekin

Yeah, I think the same thing too concerning the larger rotor making more torque.

Tell your Reedy rep what I saw today...
I am sure you can mention to him as I think you have heard of him.

Rick Hohwart ring a bell?

He is who I asked concerning the torque comparisons, advised me about the initial torque differences, and his honesty has me interested in picking up a Reedy Sonic for outdoor or medium track usage to try out in comparison since the conditions I am running on would see more benefit with the Pro4 mainly do to the more initial torque it makes. The fact though that the overall powerband and drag brake feel is better in his opinion has me very interested.

He definitely is a real asset to Team Associated, that should clone him.

So I'm about to bite the bullet on a SC10 4x4 contrary to what almost everybody at my local track says, but can't seem to find what motor combo to use for it. I've read the beginning of the thread about 50 pages in, but can't go through the 2100+ you guys have lol.

What is the current top 3 setups for motor/esc combo? I read a lot about the MMP + 1050, but is there something better now compared to when this thread started?

Also, what made you guys choose this truck over the Losi or Durango? My entire track is pushing the Losi on me... Even the one guy who runs fast with the SC10 4x4 is suggesting I don't go that route. I have a few things in my shopping cart, jus don't know which to actully pull the trigger on.

I've heard mixed reviews on the RX8 system, but if it IS the best I have no issue getting it. As for motors, I'm reading a bunch of stuff about different rotors etc, is there not a motor I can jus buy and throw in?

Thanks guys!

Cain , know your looking at other rides ...
The Pro-lite is the one you should look at the hardest ...

Has the losi , Durango , conversions, ect covered ....

Way better looking on the track then the rest , even a racer like you would agree, its kinda obvious ...
Mike insisted on me to test run his , his runs a tight line like a B44.....

Stay tune on the Pro-lite thread everyone...

I will be sharing how to set-up the Pro-Lite and the battle will rage on .. ...

May get to see one up close, or someone around here as the sparrowhawk equivalent to get a feel. Though, I would want a pro version. But i think it does have potential personally, reminds me of the dominusi in way.

But as I have said, parts sharing is one of the big things I am looking at with the SCT410 and the EB48, and my initial impression of the EB48 at least is its very high quality and has the layout I expect, so hoping the SCT410 shares those traits and does the things I need.

However, if not, will move on and who knows, could be back with the sc10 4x4 since I have been happy with it after putting the mods on it.
