One thing many people overlook with the 8mm mod is that you should use the shortest camber link settings as well (check BKs settings). The 8mm mod lowers the initial roll center, but the shorter the links are, the quicker the roll center raises as the suspension compresses (roll center is far from static). This combines the initail stability and traction of the 8mm mod with the anti-rollover capabilities many debate it posesses.

New FT kit came in yesterday, getting it put together and ready for the RCPro finals.

Not really doing anything special to it except running the Exotek off of my other truck.

Curious how it's going to feel going from stick > saddle.

Gents, I just picked up my first FT SC10 4X4. Any must have upgrades, mods, or just things I need to know. I have read about 1000 pages so far. Thanks for any and all help. Tim

WHat kinda track are you runnin on? Indoor? Outdoor? smooth? torn up 1/8th scale style?

There is a big difference in what may be needed between indoor clay and outdoor dirt.

I would be happy if you get BK to give us a tried, winning setup for 1/8 offroad loose tracks.

Let me know when you have that...

As for the 8mm mod. I tried it based on suggestions from you and others to see what it would do and it performed as I said it did on loose conditions when I used it. It is what it is. Can't do any more than that WC, neither could you

And I don't take it as a rub, some things you say work, some don't unfortunately. I give it all a try, what works I use, what doesn't, I don't. Probably why I use the Center Diff as it does work for what I run on.

Oh, and you may want to speak with your source again on what you saw with the Center Diff, sounds different than what you were lead to believe.

God... You're a Gem.

For the record: I stopped listening to anyone's advice in this thread and just drove my truck. Best thing I ever did. Stop sorting through bad tech (there's alot of it here) and go drive. PM me, Cain, Krio, Or Craig and ask the question. You will recieve TRACK advice and not... Well yeah.

(hope you guys don't mind I placed you)

I really wish we could move on. But it's so hard when that guy makes it as easy as he does.

That's the info we need! I only ran on loose outdoor tracks, so I'll leave the indoor expert's to advise you on set up and hop up's.

I will tell ya in the year I ran my sc10 4x4 I never broke a single part. Truck is tough as nails!

In the time i've had mind. (release day) I've broke:

2 Servo Savers
2 front bumpers
1 Rear bumper
2 Ball Studs
2 Idler Gears
1 Spring Cup

This is from may 2011 to present day, Racing 3 days a week and trying many options we invented here in the forums (causing excess breakage)

If there is going to be 1 thing, I will never disrespect the chassis for the absolute rock durability.

That's alot more racing than I did with mine. I bought the Factory Team version the day it came in stock. Raced 1 or 2 times a week through the year. Oh, I did have to replace some diff gears as the early advised shim tolerance was waaaay off. I can't really put that on the truck, more like bad info in the instructions. After I started following this thread and re-shimmed it's been bulletproof.

My 12 year old runs it now and he loves it..
