Ouch! I can say at least it was a simple fix,,, head dropped seeing it stop moving while I was on the stand. Definite relief to only have to tighten a pinion!

so i was cleaning up my truck so i could possibly race tomorrow and noticed one of my lipo packs case is cracked pretty bad. what should i do ? i can not tell if the actual cells are bad or not. i have it in a lipo bag right now...

Wild Cherry 06-03-2012 08:58 PM

If the pack has not swollen and still works , most likely can still use.

advise no super glue to repair case, bad for electronics due to vapor from glue.

Use duct tape or something else like shoo glue ...

What's all needed for the 8mm mod as far as the ballstud is concerned? 12mm ballstuds?

Wild Cherry 06-03-2012 09:43 PM

8mm

6917 button screw
4449 lock nuts
9873 C Tower
91121 12m stud

I just want to thank Marcus for his incredible parts! I took my first victory today after instaling his cdiff and 2 stage pistons. Had a two second faster fast lap and a second overal average better lap time. Finished twelve seconds over second. I've been trying to beat these guys for awhile.

Team Associated Factory Team Aluminum Hub Carbon Fiber C Tower [ASC9873] (tower - mounted upside down to lineup with all 3 holes)
Team Associated Factory Team 12mm Ti-Nitride Heavy Duty Ballstud Set [ASC91121] (ballstud to be able to add 7mm ballstud washers - rtr 12mm also available)
Team Associated 3mm Locknut (20) [ASC25215] (i like black because it looks cleaner - 4/40 aluminum also works)
Team Associated 4-40 x 3/8" Button Head Screw [ASC6917] (to add to other ballstud mount to increase durability with 7mm spacers on ballstud)
Team Associated Factory Team Aluminum Ballstud Washer [ASC31286] (same spacers that come with the FT kits now, 1mmx4 and 2mmx4)

It's probably still usable. I would cover the crack with electrical tape.

Assuming the el cheapo 12mm studs work too, or do you need the more expensive ones for a durability reason there?

Evil Genius jr. 06-04-2012 08:38 AM

The el cheapo ones work however they are more expensive as you have to buy 10 at a time when you only need two.

Cain 06-04-2012 08:51 AM

thanks for the info. Bought the cheap ones when I raised the inner rear on my SC10 4x4 and figured could have some spares that way.

ShortCourseOnly 06-04-2012 09:14 AM

OK. So I liked the Shorty pack solution and am planning installation. I baught two shorty packs and would like to use the FT saddle pack battery brace but rotated 90 degrees. Anyone have insight into this? I won't be able to do the installation until late July.

SOuthernFRIED 06-04-2012 09:15 AM

What ackerman position are y'all runnin on the FT's? Front or rear? Also what height is popular for the front ball studs on outdoor tracks?
