Aren't these the same size as the hyperion saddle packs? Reason I ask is that I use the 6000mah Hyperion saddle packs and they work well and I don't have them pushing up against the tunnel at all, but I don't run any foam or anything under them on the chassis.

Mine did not fit in the FT edition, but I did have the thin layer of foam on the bottom of the tray. I can hit a ten minute main with my 5200 60c saddles, so i'm not worried about the higher cap of the 6000s. It looked like they pushed up more than the thickness of the tray foam, so I did not bother trying to take out the foam.

any recommendations for fixing a leaky shock that is leaking from the bottom cap?

I have the same issue on both my rear shocks.. I tried just about everything, but found nothing that worked. Oddly, after some weeks of running, they leak less than before (even after refilling the oil).

I am in the market for saddle pack batteries for my FT SC10 4x4. I have been running Thunder Power but a buddy of mine is recommending Nano Tech Batteries he states there just as good and less the half the price. Any body using them? Any suggestions?

I'm using them and absolutely love them. They are always balanced after a run and have very good capacity and punch with my Pro4 4000. Just make sure and use good male bullets like Castle or similar to keep resistance(heat) out of female bullets in batteries and you will be golden.

I bought two pairs of the 5100 mAh, 65-130C saddle packs. Given they are the only batteries I have used for my SC10 4x4, and I am not a good enough driver to worry about shaving time off my laps by upgrading batteries, I can't tell you much about high-end performance.

I can tell you they fit well in the saddlepack compartment (in my case, with foam pad that came in the FT kit installed), they are never warm after ~10 minute practice runs, and seem to cycle fine as far as the 10 or 12 total charges I have between the two pairs.

I buy almost exclusively from my LHS, but this is the one item where the price is difference is so large, I went online. Note: I ordered from US warehouse and received package in less than one week (cannot remember exact time).

What material is that, and did you make any extras? =D

It was something my local hobby shop had. It is very dense black fiberglass that was for making custom chassis with. You can hardly flex a 16in sheet of it. It has been very strong so far. I intentionally did some crossed up sideways landings, sometime crashes, to try and brake this set and nothing broke.

JLinney 05-23-2012 02:21 PM

Hey Cameron, have you had much use for the middle or lower holes as of yet or are the upper holes where you have stayed?

Regarding the timing on 4 pole motors. I have a Tenshock SC411 4000kv and a hobbyking 120a ESC. We don't race short course in my club so I race it round our track between buggy heats and often use full packs, to keep the temps down should I use the programme card to set the timing to zero degrees? I currently run 15/62 but have a 14t as well.

I'll just set the timing to zero degrees and see how it feels after half a pack and at lipo cutoff.
It's great having the receiver in the sealed box but it's a pain having to undo it to plug in the programme card.

We took $35.00 off the factory team! Use code "ultimate" :)

The tenshock and pro4 don't really like or need timing. They are wicked fast without timing and even low timing adds too much heat... I guess unless you are under geared and then you are bandaiding a bad setup with timing.

I got a short servo wire extension and plugged that into the receiver and it sticks out of the box with about 0.5 inch of wire and plug the esc into that. That way I dont have to take the lid off the box to program. I think it was a 3 in extension. If 5+ in is all your LHS has you can always bunch the excess up in the box.

At Dave's RC Tracks I have been testing the all the holes (insert "that's what she said" joke here) and I did like the upper inner hole the best so far. All the outer holes seem not to be the way to go with this truck, so I am going to make another tab with the holes all shifted inside one more hole. I need to get back to PRCR high bite indoor track and run some more again with this set-up. There I liked a tab that had 2mm lower than stock hole over the stock. I did notice running +8 my inside rear tire comes off the ground off power on tight 180 corners which does make the truck rotate corners quick, but think that is hurting my exit speeds some.

cjhoward78 05-23-2012 05:58 PM

Thanks to all who have put countless hours into this truck. I appreciate ur dedication. Due to lack of factory support I have purchased a Losi scte and what a better platform. Asc lack of consideration for the consumer has caused me to after 12+ yrs of running asc only products to switch to Losi. Bummer. Thank u guys for the extended effort to help this truck.
