WC....it doesn't hurt to try something new. At worst you can go back. Just saying...

I partially agree with you ricky, you shouldn't knock someone because they feel a certain way etc......... However I think what is getting to some is how he recommends it to others as if AE product's are the only ones out there that is worth purchasing....... Nothing wrong with backing up a product, however that doesn't mean you should praise it over others especially if you haven't tried it........ Its just like the exotek chassis debate, some will say its not worth it or useless, and others will state otherwise...........

Just a comment for the newb's like me getting into this. I took my truck to the LHS today to get outfitted with my electronics. We got everything soldered up and I took it out back to test it. Holy crap! This thing is a blast! Or at least it was until I stripped out my steering servo horn because I put the wrong one in...... Now I gotta tear the front out and replace it. My mistake was because I was going to use the SAVOX servo and at the last minute went with a hitech. It did not dawn on me to think about that during assembly and I grabbed the one for savox.

I do have a question though. I read and thought I set up the front toe in/out and cast/camber the way it said but one of my tires is all kitty wampus and the other fairly straight. WHen setting up the front end do you set the tires up by degrees or go with the lengths they designate for the adjustable arms? Any tips on adjusting the front end please?

And if that question offends anyone because it has been asked a dozen times, I apologize.

Okay So, I go the truck dialed in perfectly for the turns, bumps and straights but I am having trouble getting it to jump properly. I can not hit any of the big jumps wiht consistency. Using the same throttle application and hitting the jump in pretty much the same place I still get inconstancy. It will nose up, nose down and no amount of throttle control will fix it. Parachuting is part but not all of it. Any ideas? Running V2s and B4.3 Rear and Yellow Front.

Welcome to the joys of sc10 4x4 ownership!!! Just an fyi, got rid of my exoteck and cross balanced the truck and its a much better jumper now, it easier to control with the extra weight but im not faster with it also made my truck nose strait up on big jumps

JEFFs SC10 05-10-2012 06:06 PM

my drag brake keeps the nose down/level when I jump. The exotek will help a lot too.

I've used both the Tierod measurement method and the Degree method.
- The degree method pisses me off because after two laps, everything's different.
- The measurement method makes it mathmatically the proper camber/toe. The only thing that changes that is accidents, bends, and strip outs. I prefer this method.

use the measurement exactly as they show in the manual. I have never changed mine from that for my purposes. If you decide to: Measure the changes in length millimeters, don't use a stupid gauge.

Ah... The joys of this Platform!

Evil Genius jr. 05-10-2012 06:13 PM

It's not so much the nose is always up as it's inconsistent and nothing I do will correct it in the air.

rickybobbyxxx 05-10-2012 06:19 PM

Mine was skying strait up, looked ridiculous!!!! I tried adding front weights but by the time it would balance out,the truck seemed to heavy and it lost alot of its sharpness

Evil Genius jr. 05-10-2012 06:24 PM

Mine would do that too and I have 3oz in the front

Thanks, I will pick up a good MM rule to use for this purpose. I look forward to getting it on a track! Today was just asphalt.

Y'all keepin the throttle pinned as you leave the jump?? I let it go to neutral soon as i hit the jump face. Jumps nearly perfect everytime.

I use my caliper. Does the job all the way down to "ridiculous"
