It's the same spring as the V2 one they offer for the B4, T4, SC10.

anyway, anyone running the stock rtr esc and motor ?
iam and the reedy 550 3500 kv motor gets hot, about 170 after 8 minutes and its not as fast as the other motors the guys are using in 4x4 open.(ae says the max temp is 170)

the esc so far has been good but i just read on another furom that if you use a different motor other then the rtr reedy motor "bad" things happen. as for what those bad things are i have no idea.

i was thinking of geting another motor like a 1410 and running it with the stock esc. no im unsure what to do and money is getting tight.
Twisted,
I have the rtr version and it also ran very hot. I fixed the problem by going to the mantis center diff. i also decided to replace the motor and I'm currently running the castle 1410 with the stock esc and a savox servo without any issues. I have a MMP to put in but will use the stock one until it dies.

was the slipper contributing the hot motor ? is the mantis center diff the same as the rcshox unit ?

and one more question, how is the 1410 compared to the stock motor ?

thanks !

I was getting beat because of my handling and skill getting used to the truck. My track is indoor, small to medium size so power isnt a huge necessity. If you are running on a huge outdoor track I can see where it may be a problem. But for what I am using it for the stock esc and motor are fine. Hope this helps
yea on an indoor my truck is fine speed wise. no problem till i get outside on the big tracks. whats hte temps on your motor ?

That kind of gives me the impression that the excessive heat is not being generated by the motor, but more that it is heat being transferred to the motor plate by the wimpy slipper that is included in the RTR..... I remember that was a fairly common issue before the HD pads, Garodiscs, clutch basket, etc....

I never got above 160 the other day, but those were only 5 min main. I took it out for some extended practices as well and still didnt see anything really over 160, but I cant tell you how many minutes those sessions were. ill check what pinion I'm running to see if that is helping keep me a little lower

I think you are running a 14 tooth pinion and I ran that truck for 20 minutes straight and was still in the 160's. I never saw it hit 170 as Twisted is seeing.

Indoors I love the truck. I set this thing up as it sits, and roar. 4 months ago, I could keep up with Cameron for a lap till I messed up. (I'm not very consistent as his speed) I have no indoor complaints, any problems are 100% my problems. Outdoors, I can tune my slash to beat losis, My "race" truck chassis however...

You have an extra set of V2 pistons, take the rear rebound set drill them to 1.3 and go up to 32.5 in the rear, keep the shocks mounted on the inside arm hole.
I will try that. Only thing is my truck felt great with the new Blockades. The thing has so much bite and drove aggressive and kicked some ass until the track blew out and now it's hell. I was swearing by the blockades till that point.

It weighs in at a hefty 6.9lbs but still drives inside of the Losi's. For outdoors I need the weight. The only area of our track that gave me issues was a 180deg turn at the end of a straight that is down hill and off camber. My tires had good side bite and too much speed would cause a wicked traction roll.
Weight's definitely my #1 right now. I think i'm putting a sheet of lead on my chassis here soon to try. I have many chassis's from Centermount battery to some of the chassis brace prototype stuff I was doing. So I have some test ability. If it comes down to it, I can consider the Exotek and a bit more weight, We shall see.

Thanks guys. I'm no where near given up, Just back to a little frustrated.

I've been reading through tons of guides and threads but can't seem to find an answer. What does changing the F/R diff oil do? 30K vs 3K up front changes what?
Thanks!

I've purchased the rtr version of this truck, I have to sayi was bitterly disappointed in it. The truck was near un drivable track happy as hell very nervous at speed.
I've also got the losi scte rtr now or of the box with the tyres it came with I was driving like a pro!
I haven't given up on the sc10 yet and had got the upgrade pack from AE im yet to run it.
Reading through this thread im mightily confused as to which direction I should go to get the truck confident on the dirt tracks
To say im mightily disappointed is an understatement considering how awesome the losi is out of the box
