Hey guys - I'm currently assembling my FT SC10 4x4 and cannot decide on a motor/esc combo. I've done tons of research and narrowed it down to either a Tekin Pro 4 (4000kv or 4600kv) or a Reedy Sonic 550 (probably 4.5). I'll be running the car on indoor clay tracks. I'm leaning toward the Tekin Pro 4 since it seems to be the popular choice, but do you guys recommend a 4000kv or 4600kv? I was going to order the 4600kv since I thought I could just dial down the power but I've been reading some people prefer the 4000kv. I'd also need an ESC - I was looking at the Hobbywing 120A (have on in my onroad car, no problems so far) or a Tekin RX8. Is the RX8 worth the extra cash?

Any tips would be appreciated, I'm approaching the end of the build and need some electronics!

take the hobbywing esc. when you have troubles in one of your cars with the speedo, you can swap.

I dont see you do that with the RX8 and your onroad car

theres one guy I race with has , will try his ride and let you know....

Can tell you my Sc10 with the VTS accelerates very smooth & goes into the corner just as smooth.
No wheel spin & great traction....

Pro4 4000 is enough motor for my local indoor clay track. Some argue that you can dial down a 4600 but not up on a 4000. But dialing a 4600 down doesn't let it reach it's optimum performance. For my buddy and I the 4000 rips around the track fine and this is with the Exotek chassis on our trucks to boot.

The 4000 is large enough for any indoor track that I've ever seen. I'm running a 4600/Speed Passion 2.0 Pro combo, and it flies. More than enough power for most outdoor tracks, and the speedo comes off relatively cool.

Anyone know what this coupled inner slipper hub AE is showing as a option is for? Part#91188. No pictures or description on site of this piece and wondering if it would be useful or not to have in parts stash.

That is the same as the "pinned" slipper mod, it requires the new top shaft (FT part) with the additional flat spot.

I would wish anyone good luck that is going to the showdown that think they will out qualify Mike or Scott at their home track, including myself. I am sure the slipper set up will be very good on the track builders track.

I had the shaft, got the plate last night. Its helpful on some huge wide open 1/8th scale tracks, or if grip is totally nonexistant.

How was my response wrong? So your saying the pulley does not mount to it?
