Unfortunately, bad news to report....

My tenshock sc401 4600 delaminated a rotor in the A main of our State series race last weekend while I was leading

The motor is blisteringly fast in my lightened Losi SCTE, runs at reasonable temps and is smooth, and overall my favorite motor to date....but I can't have unreliability in a racing motor. This one DNF could potentially ruin any chances for a repeat as state champion.

I will reglue the rotor and see if it was just inferior sleeve retainer used, but if it acts up again, it's going to do like a lemming and jump off a cliff.

What voltage were you running and what speed was the car geared for ?

What ESC settings were you using ?

Cheers

2s, 12/40 gearing, zero timing on RX8 esc. Motor was temping around 155-160 after runs.

I don't have a radar gun and I find the speed calculators less than accurate, so I really have nothing but i guess, of about 35mph.

Scriptasylum website calculator is very accurate for the Slash 4x4

Dont think it has the latest cars though, allthough if you have the gear ratios it should be fine

4600 motor has a loaded kv of around 4000 if that helps

Cheers

I generally gear trucks / cars by temperature, 10min main if its coming off the track at 150-160 its all good

How is the 70MPH slash coming along ?

without me searching through this whole post, could someone shed some light on the 540 size 4 pole 5xxxkv motor and its power and mainly temperature in a car like the sc104x4..

it was this or a cc 540 or a novak 550.. i chose this as the price was decent..

Its more like 550 size with the longer can.

The 5200kv is very fast and I have only seen it ran in slash 4x4 and a hyper tt.

Have not heard any feedback from SC10 4x4 users as of yet. The only truck that I know of having heat issues is the Losi though.

Anyone know what the gear ratio for the sc10 4x4 is ?

Trans ratio is 2.57

They come with either a 93T 48P spur or a 62T 32P spur...
