Diving into a new 22

I'm all excited to buy into a new 22 and and I don't know a darn thing ok thats been said. I've looked into the first page of this thread and read over the mod new build sheet and love it.

So I'm going to model after a Evan's setup, I drive on a indoor clay track

Buying a new Roller
LRP SXX TC with a x-12 10.5 ( I already had it and hope it will work fine)

Adding
5 degree carriers blocks
trans shims
carbide balls
TA Slipper and pads
slipper spring
wheel extentions 1.5mm
3.5 rear toe plate
25 degree brass kick shim

is this a good start ? too much too little, missing something?

Too soon junior.

Run the stock setup and adjust from there.

I hear people adding the AE slipper to the 22. I like the AE slippers a little better too but are the Losi slippers really that bad? It works pretty good for me.

I've had zero problems with the TLR slipper and spurs, they're great quality and easy to adjust.

I'd wait for the wheel spacers, trans spacers, and toe block. Drive the car and see what you need. Some guys like the 3* block, others the 3.5* all that stuff depends on how you want it to drive.

I'd invest in the 25/5 front and shorty lipos. Maybe the RTR shock caps too, don't need a whole lot to go fast.

I have not had any trouble with the slipper.

not needing a lot to go fast is true, many of the parts are stuff grabbed from the TLR 22 setup page on this site and seem universal across most setups. Other parts are just cool looking

+1 I agree, build it and drive it and then tweak what you need. The car will run good out of the box. Most of these changes are to fine tune it to your driving style and your track.

thank you guys for the feedback, what gearing do you think is a good starter knowing im using the LRP SXX TC ESC and the 10.5 motor

The track is 100x55 there are two long high speed sections, and two triples at about 25 feet each

I was running the rtr shock caps for awhile because I was discouraged with the kit caps. After watching the Dustin Evans video on building shocks I gave the kit caps another try and Im back to kit caps. His way is fullproof and have great results. Plus if you tighten down the bleeder screws too tight on the rtr caps they strip and leak.

Bartlett rd just about a mile north of Irving Park rd. It's in the strip mall on the right side of the road.

Try 23t if using the stock spur, and go from there depending on performace and temps.

Someone else's set up is a starting point, this includes the kit setup . If you wanna start with Evans set up that's fine start there .

The 22 slipper spring works great, I would go for the 3.0 LRC toe plate and +.75mm wider hexes. These are what we all run now. The DE Reedy setup is a year old now, and we have progressed
