I think Frank posted that his car ready to run was 1620g which is more then most cars are running right now. 1499g is minimum for roar. Not really sure if that would be an issue for spec but for mod its a none issue.

Every other car out there was designed for NiMh batteries and comes in underweight with LiPos. Then you add chunks of lead all over the chassis to compensate for the balance and weight because the car was designed around something else entirely. Ugly and a Band-Aid.

This car is dead on for weight. You can't legally race it lighter, so what's the point of complaining about it? The mass of the weight is all in the chassis, which is lower than any taped on piece of wheel lead or any expensive piece of aftermarket brass can be tacked on.

My freshly built retro RC10 gold tub with B4 suspension components weighs in at a svelte 1510g in race trim. Ready for stock class racing on the club level and 11g over the ROAR minimums. Is this a "heavy" car because I don't have to add lead to be legal to race?

Really guys, find something else to moan about. The only thing I have been able to find wrong with this car so far is that the name is awful for search engines.

Most are running closer to 1600g with added weight up front. Stock races used to be won (recently) with cars 6+oz over weight. In this car's case the weight seems to have been spent very wisely, on strength.

The 22 is just a smidgen heavier then the CR with the current set-up, we weigh'd dustin's 22 and my CR (which has his set-up) during testing and it was no more then an ounce heavier (don't remember exact numbers). For the cr set-up there is a 1/2 in the nose, 1/2 in front of the servo, 1/4 on each side of the servo, and a 1/4 next to the receiver, plus alum. rear pivot.

And if you can't get power out of today's batteries and motors to make up the very minimal extra weight, then you are doing something wrong. The car drives so well and is so well planted compared to the cr and by no means feels slower.

Frank Root posted that his car was 1550g in race-ready trim. That's 51g over the limit and lighter than many people are running their current cars.

Not an issue. In any class.

I found that a dab of "Hondabond", used to use it to seal nitro engines, will keep any e-clip in place. Even under heavy abuse never lost one.

Yeah, 70g is kind of a big difference. Still not sure it matters too much for any buggy class.

So my 'ol faithful (and fav of all time for 10th scale applications) JR 8800S is not going to fit in this car then? I don't plan to run the mid motor setup.
