B44.1 Thread
#2686
I'm fortunate enough to live in SoCal and see the AE guys around a lot.
Last I heard, the other AE factory guys that had not yet received their big bores, would be getting them this weekend at the Pro-Line Surf City Classic, and that it would still be several more weeks before publicly available, as the parts are trickling in slowly. I'm heading over to watch the mains of Surf City today at OC_RC. Will report back with any more updates / details I can find out.
I do know of a local vendor I buy from frequently, is no longer stocking the B44.1 kit, as they are expecting a new AE 4WD kit, but have no ETA. Keep in mind this is a small vendor though, that would not want to get stuck with an "old" kit. Maybe the B44 will be the first kit to see a ".2" update with the big bores. Maybe not.

AE guy Chris from the 4.1 thread has stated numerous times ae has no plans to rerelease the cars with Big Bores at this time... would be nice, but with the estimated price of them being slightly cheaper than the small bore (/shrug how that works) i don't imagine they really need to. Also, the new big bores use all the same parts from the small bores except bores, cap, springs... so u can save your shafts and stuff. not sure about pistons though, oO~

The abrupt start up of the castle will not be kind to your drivetrain. It has lots of torque and is better suited to a short course truck or basher car.
