Last I heard, the other AE factory guys that had not yet received their big bores, would be getting them this weekend at the Pro-Line Surf City Classic, and that it would still be several more weeks before publicly available, as the parts are trickling in slowly. I'm heading over to watch the mains of Surf City today at OC_RC. Will report back with any more updates / details I can find out.
Ok so after the Surf City races at OC_RC, my guess is it's still going to be a little longer than we would like before the AE big bores become available. The rest of the AE drivers did NOT have their big bores yet (I see Hartson regularly, and he's had them for quite some time now).

Thanks!
Before you run it, be sure to check that there is NO side to side play on your outdrives in both front & back gear boxes. If there is any wiggle room at all, you're going to want to get in there and add more shims as needed, or you'll be needing new bevel / diff gears in no time. Also, I'd suggest setting your brake action on your radio back to like 60% and adjust up as you see needed. A lot of guys seem to run around 80-90% brakes. Too hard of sudden braking action will also reduce your bevel / diff gear life. Rear diff "wheel flick" test should be set to about 1 rotation, and the front diff a little looser, about 1.25 to 1.50 rotations. Slipper should only slip for a couple of feet at most from a stand still take off.

Good luck! The car can be a little more tricky to learn how to set / adjust properly at first, but it's a GREAT car and a LOT of fun to drive, especially once you get the feel for pushing it and landing jumps correctly

As numerous others have already stated, DON'T use that 4-pole in this car!

Yep. Just mix well and let settle so any air bubbles are gone. And it's best to use the same brand.

I'm glad I asked! I'm brand new to 4wd buggies but have been racing a B4.1 for a few months now. Can you recommend a motor for a track with lots of tight corners and a very short straight? We don't currently have a 4wd buggy class so I don't have anyone to really ask. I'm hoping to get some interest up in it.

If you're actually located in Upland, you're only a 40 minute drive from West Coast Raceway, where you will find a world class off-road track, plenty of help with your 4WD buggy, and find other folks racing them during the WC series races or other big events. WCRC just hosted the ROAR Nationals, and will host a round of the JBRL soon, along with the Reedy International Race next January!

And 20 minutes down the boulevard from there is OC_RC, another amazing indoor track. We got it so good down here in SoCal!

I plan on being there. Debating on bumping up to sportsman 4x4 since I was running low 34's and 11 laps a couple Weeks ago in a Sunday race and I haven't made enough races for the points to matter. It will be my first race with the b44.1. I was running 1/8 buggy.

Are they watering on Fridays? Just wondering because AKA rebars were working well for me when it was dry but not sure what's working on the buggies when they water.

Just trying to help. Besides, I like to be precise; it's easier to replicate set-ups that work.

I appreciate the link. I didn't have that one. I just know most guys will mix it in a paper cup after adding close to the right amounts and then pour it into the shocks. If I mix it I go by weight on a digital scale so I can replicate it if I like it. The problem with weights is they very between manufacture. The difference between Losi and AE is a good example.
