Installed my 8.2 mudguards today, they fit great! I just drilled 4 holes in the arms and used the provided screws. Can't beat it for 6 bucks...

Default Futaba Reverse Issue

I just built my buggy and installed my MMM/2200kv setup on a Futaba 4PL.

I know I have to reverse the servo channel as with all Futaba radios. But what got me was the esc/motor after I properly calibrated it to my TX. For some reason the buggy will not brake then reverse. It will go into full reverse when I apply brakes.

So I used my CastleLink and set it to "reverse w/proportional lock out" but same issue...it does not see a wait before going into reverse. So then I set the motor orientation to reverse and reversed the throttle channel on my TX. Now it acts the way I want it to. It will brake to a stop and then reverse.

But now I'm running my motor in reverse and also my TX in reverse channel. Will this hurt anything?

Here's a pic of my setup:

Well I dont have a Castle esc but every esc that I have the throttle has to be set to rev to program. the motor doesn't have a fwd or rev...it can run either way unlike a brushed motor without harm.

I did the same thing awhile back...forgot to put the tx in rev on a sensorless motor and it was underpowered in fwd and ran like heck in rev...and now that I think about it it would go straight into rev. Had to change the wires and rev the throttle.

Could someone recommend a decent middle of the road servo? Like $50-75ish.

I run a Savox SC-1256tg servo. I was a little lery before buying it because Ive been running a Hitec 7955tg for years, but the savox is BOMB PROOF same as the 7955.. It's worth the $$

Thanks for the tip. That's right in the price range I was looking for and it looks like a great product. As a bonus my local RC shop carries them!

+1

I've always been a HiTec fan but recently switched over to the Savox (specifically the 1256tg) and haven't looked back since. I'm about to outfit the rest of my line up with Savox units and remove the HiTec ones that are installed now.

I have a 2050 and RX8 in my RC8Be.

It had a 15T on it when I got it but was very undergeared ... got like 25min runtimes but top end was lacking. I run a 18T on it now and it rips ... still runs cool and gets about 15min runtime. Clears every jump with ease at the track which has BIG jumps.

I've been checking out some videos on youtube on now Brandon Melton sets up is car...although its Nitro...this should help with some things...like tuning your swaybars, and also how to make your suspension act like it should by running an electric drill with the same bit to get out any of the extra material that may still be in the A-Arms...which can make the car act very different...thats what I have learned from these videos...hope it helps you guys out too.

By the way,

Can anyone link me to where I can convert my chassis to upgrade it to the RC8.2e? I heard all I need to do is change the shock towers, the new chassis, arms, and drive shafts but is that all I have to do? Just curious...I wouldn't know where to start looking...thanks a bunch guys!

Sounds right. The only driveshaft that is different is the center rear driveshaft. There are a few other differences such as the lightened outrdrives but they are not critical to the performance but they do help.
