I ran the LRP SPX8 for the whole season last year with no problems. However, they will have a new ESC (IX8) and new brushless 1/8th scale motors coming out eventually. Its really all up to you.

Took first in the A - Main tonight! Always feels good beating out a couple Losi's. Silly Losi's, first place is for associated
I love this car more each time I drive it. The changes I made to the diff last time seemed to really help me with in the turns.
Im considering some of the parts that AE is coming out with, but there's no way Im buying them all. Out of those parts, any idea whats going to give the best bang for the buck?

I am selling some parts if anyone is interested. I have FT front knuckles and FT rear hubs, lightweight input cups, lightweight front and rear axles, all the RC8be aluminum plates A-D, stock aluminum front and rear shock towers, all 4 big bore shocks with a rebuild kit, all 3 diffs filled with 5k fluid. Center diff case was sanded and has mugen gasket, other two diffs have doubled up stock gaskets, very smooth. I have a Trinity 5600 50C battery with deans, a 4500 40C Turnigy with deans. Both are 4 cell. A Mamba Monster ESC with castle link adapter. This stuff is in good condition. About 5 race days on them. I have other stock parts available like chassis and arms, etc..Please let me know if anyone is interested and we can talk price with shipping. I can text photos too. Thanks!

What's your budget?
I've run and had luck with these 4s LiPos:
Hobby People 40c, 5k mah (hardpack)
Zippy 35c, 5k mah (soft pack) *Hobby King*
Turnigy 40c, 4.5k mah (hard pack) *Hobby King*
Max Amps 65c, 6.5 mah (hard pack)
* I hear good things about Gens Ace from Hobby Partz but have been waiting for mine for 4 weeks now. (I ordered them when "in stock")
these batteries seem to balance well, give good run times, and pack plenty of punch.
The Hobby King stuff is inexpensive and haven't give me any issues after about 6 months of running them (I also use there ec0-6 charger/balancers).
I take time to balance properly and never let the voltage get too low.
just my two bits.

Hey guys, what shock weight are you all using? I am running stock fluid and my car seems to bottom out on almost every jump. Even the little two foot jumps on the track. Every jump I hear the chassis banging on the ground. I couldn't imagine this being good for the electronics or buggy. I have my ride height at about 29mm front and rear.
Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!
Extra notes:
I know the stock I am running is 25w Front & Rear with 10*1.3 pistons.

I'm running 30 weight all the way around with the 10 x 1.1 tapered pistons and Stock Springs.
I was running this with my heavy pack (TP 65C 4S)...
Now I'm running the same fluid and pistons, but Kyosho Light Blue Springs with my lightweight pack.... 3700 40C 4S
Seems to work great for me...

Mamba Monster pulls 120a so you'll want to get a battery that can provide at least that much to get the full potential of that esc.
