I put some good money into a charger and power supply just for this reason. I'm gonna put that bad boy to use at it's full potential. To each there own.
I don't have time or enough batteries to sit around and wait for them to charge in an hour or more while at the track.

While I come from the old lipo practice of charging at 1c I think I may try something different. I just bought 4 turnigy 5s 5000mah. Im going to charge two at 2c and the other two at 1c and see if my non scientific approach will net an appreciable change over time.
Anyone have advice as to where to start my gearing with a tekin 1900kv on 5s in my new rc8be? I know its way overkill for the indoor clay track but for some reason I couldnt help it. I may eventually go to 4s or a 1700kv but this is what Im going to start with and would like to get the geaing in the ball park. It seems people with the 1900kv on 4s start around 18-19 on the pinion. I would think my setup would require a 16 or so? I dont know, is why Im asking.

18 or 19 yes but 5s will be way to much for inside clay unless its pretty big
just go by the temps
mine is geared 20 running 4s and kit seems ok motor does not get that hot I think 150 on the motor is good but not much higher
just ask some 1/8 scale guys at your track what they are running and stay around what they are running + or - a few teeth
another factor depends on how hard you are pushing the car harder throttle bursts make more heat

I know 5s is way too much. The clay track is a good size for an indoor track but its not huge. My plan is to gear it way down and dial some punch out of it. My hope being that I will get some very long run times and ridiculous power....I know the power goal will be accomplished.
Anyone know if these tekin motors can handle 35,000 rpms? Seems many people shoot for the 28,000-33,000 range.

I used to run my 1700KV T8 in my Tuggy on 6S all the time. It was usless as a racer but it would jump anything and did backflips on command. But the motor took it just fine. 5S is going to be a handful in a buggy with a 1900. It will not be user friendly on dirt. And dialing it back usually creates heat in the ESC, so its not an optimal setup...
If you get a 1700kv motor 5S would be ok
