Any ideas on gearing / tyre set up for Grass Track Racing?
running an RC8Be, MMP, 2200kv Castle Motor, DS1313 Servo, 4PL Radio on 4s Lipo.
Have a set of Badlands and AKA Crossbrace on Corr style Rims but not sure if either of those are suitable for Grass.
Also any general set up info? Are Tapered pistons worthwhile?

For gearing in the grass, I would start out around 44/16 or 44/17 with that motor. Grass is hard to predict. Taller grass will require a smaller pinion to control heat. For dirt use, an 18 or 19 pinion would be perfectly normal. I would start low and monitor the temps. If you find the motor and ESC temps to be right around 100F, you can go to a taller pinion.
On a side note. You may need some capacitors on your receiver if you are using the MMP's BEC with that servo.

It works pretty good in 1/8th scales. I have been running my MMP in a 1/8th for about a year with no problems. For high power servos (coreless, digital in particular) you may need a capacitor to help the BEC or you can use an external BEC.

You will want to look for tires will bigger lugs for grass racing. I don't know if I would go all the way to Badlands, but they do work. Just have to be careful when you turn since they tend to dig in and cause traction rolling. I have a set of knockoff Badlands and they are great for the grass. Crime Fighters and Calibers also make decent grass tires.

Grass track is usually very short and well maintained which is why I queried using the AKA tyres. Badlands I was told trimming the outside lugs and dropping ride height would help with traction rolling?

So I took out all my electronics last night for some light cleaning before my track day next weekend (actually all weekend since wife will be out of town!!
). When tightening the screws on the radio tray I might have stripped those two out (stripped the head of screw). Where do you guys buy screws at? I saw some on towerhobbies but I don't need 10 of them. Does anyone sell a complete set? Maybe Stainless Steel?

I know we had this discussion but I have some extra $$ to blow again on this buggy. I am already ordering the grid mount. What one do I get? I see there are two of them. I wanted the one with the support but I am running a 20-21 gear. I have all DE stuff. What other suggestions?
