You have to use locktite to keep it down. What I do is I insert the screws through the plastic and add a little locktite in the motormount plate before I screw it all the way down. This way the loctite doesn't get caught up in the plastics.
The screws should not go past the slipper hub (metal circle thing). If your hub is now bent due to the screw pressing on it, replace it.

I still run the standard and just got 3rd (almost 2nd) this weekend in the intermediate stock non-timing class in front of other b4.1's that have the 8mm. I know it comes down to the driver but the +8 can still be beat by the standard.
how do u guys hold ur shock oils? I throw all of em in along with springs and ofna shock stand in a jc sealed tire bag. Just oils gets in the bag even with closed caps. I want the ones ryan and the pros use kind of like a small showcase? Any body know?

the max you should be running is three try that[/QUOTE]Ok, Time out... You have strayed way too far off the path. Time for the setup reality check (I have to usually do this about once a month LOL)
This goes for everyone. If your car is just not right and you can't seem to get it there, you need to tear it down and rebuild it and look for any parts that are overly worn or broken. After you have replaced them, rebuild the car with one of these two setups, and nothing else. There simply is no reason to stray far from these unless you race on the most extreme conditions (and if that's the case, the car probably will never feel right).
If your car has the std chassis, put on Ryan Maifeild's 2011 Reedy Race setup. Follow every part. Don' skip or deviate from it. It can be found here:http://teamassociated.com/pdf/cars_a...Reedy_Race.pdf
If your car has the +8mm chassis, put on Ryan Cavaleri's Finnland setup. Again.... do it exactly, don't fudge it. It can be found here:
http://teamassociated.com/pdf/cars_a...eri_Worlds.pdf (you can run AE Browns for fronts since the KY springs are hard to find...and those were Std KY springs not BB).
Ok so after your car is back to "normal", make your tweaks and setup changes, one at a time, and note what it does. You shouldn't vary too far from the original though. They are well thought out and have been tested thoroughly.
Not trying to preach, but when I see guys asking if they are running too many limiters and they are hitting 5, that makes me just feel like someones running their fingernails down a chalk board.
So that is my "reality check" for you guys
. I know I always end up greatful after someone gives me mine

I had the same issue.. oil leaking everywhere. I put my shock oils in a zip lock bag (I was out of JC bags haha) and then they all go in a bait box that I got at a Kmart or Walmart years ago. You can store prolly 12-15 bottles in here no prob. You can also throw your traction compound in here too.

One suggestion I make is just in case you spring a leak somewhere, take a blue shop towl or a reg paper towl and fold it up to the right size and line the bottom of the container to soak up anything.
tha'ts cool, I need to get some more run time and feel for this, but I do want every advantage at the same time. I'm new to the buggy world.
The one Ryan uses is the Dialed inc. one. A bit pricey but it looks sweet and looks like it would do the job perfectly. http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_...-Bag-Can-Combo

I fully agree with everything you posted. Most times a lot of guys get too caught up in setups and just need to reset/rebuild and just drive!!!
However while I normally would roll my eyes at someone using 5 limiters... There's atleast one team setup with just that. It also greatly depends on if you're using the inside or outside hole on the front arm!
If I'm usig a setup based off of using the outside(most typical) I will usually run 3 limiters. Now if I'm using inside I'll definitely start with 4. This past weekend I used 5 for the first time. It's not typical but it has it's uses. Now if this guy has 5 limiters and using the outside hole on the arm... Yeah not gonna be workin too good.

+1 Tackle boxes are money. However, maybe I'm just lucky or something, but just replacing the inner blue cap on the oil and screwing the clear cap back on seems to keep everything on lockdown. I keep all my crap in embarrassing plastic bags.. but haven't had a hint of oil leakage. Did you toss out the blue cap or something??
now i really like the traxxas cups when they are used with their upper collars and stock ae collar because it allows the spring to rotate without changing how the spring is adjusted because it just spins on the upper traxxas collar.
It never hurts to ask how someone bleeds their shocks. If youre building your shocks this way... then youre issue is likely elsewhere.
You said you were bouncing around in that post... are you tail tapping through the rough stuff? Maybe you can alter your gearing to move the motor closer to the trans IF that is a problem...
