Are the bearings 9832 that house the diffs in the transmission case different if I wanna use the gear diff? I had a really hard time getting the gear diffs to sit in the bearings. I had to use a mallet to hammer the diff in.
YES, THEY ARE DIFFERENT!!! The gear dif from the rtr or sc10 use standard bearings on the gear dif outdrives, while the ft, worlds, or .2 use metric bearings on the ball dif outdrives. The case is also different because of this.

im about to put Kyosho Big Bores on my original FT B4 and im trying to get some help with getting a similar amount of pack/dampening as my current setup. currently im running 30wt #2 pistons and black BB springs front with 25wt #2 pistons and white BB springs rear. i was considering going to #3 pistons front to get a bit more pack but im not sure if i want to do that yet.

Why did AE go with big bores? When the 22 buggy hit the race circuits was it killing the b4's? I don't race as much as some folks anymore so I'm little out of date.In other words what's up with the big bore's?

I wonder if he has the wrong outdrive matched the to the wrong bearing too? That would allow enough of a gap between the bearing and outdrive to get dirt inside the transmission and make a mess in there. Why in the world did AE make that change? It was just asking for this to happen repeatedly.

The gear dif uses a different case & out drive bearings the the ball dif. If you started with an RTR it came with a gear dif & would need a new case & bearings to run the ball dif. If you started with a FT or worlds it came with a ball dif & would need a new case & bearings to run the gear dif.
Go to rc10.com & pull the manual for the b4.1 RTR & the b4.1 ft or worlds & compare part #'s for the case & out drive bearings.
