Well WC said it was the same platform. So his theory of an all "new" is out I guess. I have a carbon rack now, lol. I had 3-4 of them from before they stopped making them :)

The Sweep starts out the same firmest as a brand new Red AKA.

Stay's firm where the AKA breaks in and gets softer...

Conclusion of test

The Sweeps Orange will be awesome on high traction or when using slicks ..
They are bit to firm for med traction conditions however .... Beware...

Hope this helps you guys ...:)

Thanks! Love JC products but Sweep has definitely grabed hold of the Atlanta area...

Exactly what MKennedy linked.

I like them. Only have to solder once on each motor. Makes swapping motors easy with just a few turns of the screws.

How are the ones for the ESC?

I have to get some for my motors!

I was just wondering if the ftw night fox body fits with the +8mm chassis?

I need help.

Can't get the rear to calm down, as I'm running a shorty pack. The car feels great all the way up to 8/10 or so, but once I start to push it, it becomes unpredictable.

I've toyed with a full size battery before, but never really committed to it. I found that the car was much more predictible/stable when going into, or coming out of a corner. It was easier to get that nice arc/flow through the corner due to weight transfer. I've played with roll, using the shorty pack, and more roll only made the car less predictable, and slower to settle coming out of a turn.

Attached is my current setup. Any suggestions? I would add toe (at the hub), but I like the way it turns when I'm not pushing it.

Maybe try the going back to a hubs to see how they feel on your track, with 2 washers.?

Get a heavier battery to test with

Try the new shock package everyone is running..
37.5/35, 1.7 pistons all around green/green or black/green, going down to green In the rear might help you lock the car in more. But many run white too

Drop your springs down. Thats about the same shock packacge i run with a full size battery. Go down to green in the rear and black/brown in the front.

Top

Go a softer spring in rear ( Green)
Remove .030 spacer from the rear camber stud on U brace

That was my experience with green fronts and white backs. Just too much spring. Rear just didn't have enough weight on it. That's why I like black front green rear. I also run A hubs, even with zero washers on a shaved brace in rear, but our track is... how can I put this... big on forward bite and has lots of low speed corner exits to straights but our high speed corners are all banked... so, my rear roll center may not apply to your track at all :)

How are you liking the barcodes on those conditions?

By the way, anyone using the outside position on the rear a-arm as far as the shock mounting spot goes?

screw sheered off last jam session, so moved shocks to the outside position and liked how it felt. this is carpet.

RCHR is a pretty tight track correct?? You need a lot of weight transfer on tighter tracks. Plus I believe it's fairly low to medium bite??

With the shorty your car is too stiff. Try this:

It the track is smooth stay with 1.6 pistons but go down to 30wt in the front and either 27.5 or 25 in the rear. Start with black front and green rear springs. You might end up on brown front.

If forward bite is the name of the game there... Throw on the 3.5 toe block and possibly remove the 1mm washer under the rear ball stud.

I've been running something really close to this and my car is absolutely the best it's ever been!

Thanks for the tips guys. I'll definitely be playing with spring rates and weight tonight. The track is tight, and I do like an aggressive car, but my car isn't as quick/agile as I'd like to be at the moment.

When I was on V2 shocks I was running the Losi Red front and Yellow springs, with the red pistons, and 27.5/25WT Losi oil.

@Cain

Barcodes are my go to tire at the moment (for RCHR, IRH, and RCE). V1 for more rotation and more forward bite, and V2 for a little less rotation. They don't get good until they're 50% worn or better depending on how dusty the track is.

It's close, but it's a handfull at the moment.

your setup sheet says low traction. If you indeed have low traction, did you try the A Hubs? Not sure i would go with heavier oil. I would try the green rears first. A few people have posted that the whites in the rear were a bit twitchy. I gained a bunch of steering with my BB shocks also. But, I am dealing with fish tailing on power. If my new rear tires dont help, then I might need to play with my camber links.

Getting ready for our N/w ShowDown tour @ Trcr this week end ..

So when I rebuilt the gear box yesterday ?

I got to inspect the slipper pads on my AVID Traid.
After all that wear & tear ?
The pads still look almost new , no glaze ...
Also never had to adjust the slipper unless traction also changed .
The Triad stayed consistent and reliable the whole time ...

Very impressed ...

ryanpatrickgore 01-10-2013 10:13 AM

The 1.7 and heavier oil calms the car down a little bit and makes cornering easier. Most all the team guys have it on here
