Seems like when I run mine, especially our indoor off-road carpet track at Indy RC, I will land on the motor or get rear ended during the race. When that happens, the motor gets shoved and the pinion and spur bind.

Is there a solution to that that you guys have found? An aftermarket little bumper or something for the B4.1?

Did a hex conversion on a t4.1 and going to do it on my b4.1 next, anybody have a problem getting the two .030 nylon washers on each side of front steering knuckle. I was running two one above and one below knuckle for middle height but with the conversion can only fit one so ran it lower side. It is the associated front knuckle asc9880.

On the hex conversion those spindle shims are eliminated

Has anyone tried the mip top shaft

I run the MIP top shaft in both my B4 and T4. No issues what so ever and it is quite abit lighter than the stock one. I have heard of issues with the older mip top shaft but the new one seems to be great. The new one has a hard anodized color to it.

I used it as well as a friend at the track, its lighter works fine. I have noticed the car seems to have a louder noise when using it though. Im guessing its just the material because the noise was the same on both cars.

I am using Traxxas Uppers and AE Big Bore spring cups. I would go this route so if you do upgrade to the actual big bores later on you already have a spare set of cups.

Traxxas Uppers (You will need 2 packs for a set of 4 shocks)
AE Big Bore Spring Cups (You need 1 of these for a set of 4 shocks)

Good point on using the AE spring cup.... The TLR 22 spring cup works if the AE is out of stock, I used them prior to AE having them.

If someone hits you that hard from behind that it binds your gears, and it's during a race? They really should be penalized. Talk to the anouncer, he really should be calling people on this. As far a preventing it? Make sure your motor screws are tight enough. A bumper would only add weight, change the handling, and probably cause you to land on the rear end even more often. If you land on the rear end of the buggy often, then your set up might need to be adjusted to balance the car. Its really hard to say without seeing the buggy and the track.

use a washer on the motor mounting screws. It will give you more surface area and more grip on the motor plate.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. In our buggy class, we have a mix of new drivers and more experienced drivers. So, it can be a cluster at times... Last night we were short on entries, so they put the stadium trucks in with the buggies and just called it "2WD class" so it was worse.

They screw right on. Unlike te C hubs they are only made for one side and not reversible
